Ah! Neither praising nor disparaging, not following behind, severing ties and maintaining independence, friend, you will go on the right path. Noble friend, listen, in that remote land, the wish-fulfilling jewel, your own lineage lord, is indeed the incarnate body, who else do you need to trust besides him? Even if wealthy, not attached to worldly affairs, even if knowledgeable, not boastful or arrogant, even if content, abandoning false self-importance, his kind of conduct is truly rare. In this degenerate age of the five degenerations, some people claim to be saints, but within a month, their behavior is impermanent and changes in an instant. Please observe their nine different kinds of actions. Even if one secludes oneself in a solitary place and engages in practice, there are none of the genuine, unpretentious, and exemplary virtuous deeds of those holy beings. I bow my head and respectfully prostrate. You should also emulate that holy being, just like a sala tree in a sandalwood forest, naturally absorbing the fragrance of virtue, and thus possessing the qualities of a holy being. Starting from the place of perfect virtuous deeds, may you be pleased with this well-spoken word, may your sorrowful mind be instantly cleared, and may you enjoy the glory of supreme bliss! The father of all Buddhas, possessing a youthful body, may the blessing light of the god of wisdom become a companion to your wisdom of hearing and thinking, may this most auspicious thing bring auspiciousness forever! The compassionate lord with unblinking eyes, the rain of blessings from the Buddha's son (Avalokiteśvara), may it generate the supreme Bodhicitta in your mind, may this second auspiciousness also bring auspiciousness! The lord of secrets, the heir of the Buddhas, may he show you the excellent path of secret mantra, may you conquer the obstacles in your mind, may this third auspiciousness also bring auspiciousness! Auspicious, forever auspicious, my friend! May your life and the practice of the sacred Dharma be in harmony, may the worldly and the supreme Bodhicitta be companions, may everything be auspicious from beginning to end! Auspicious! Auspicious! Auspicious! This is the instruction to Tsakha ba O-sel. Sanskrit Romanization: Namo guru lokeśvarāya, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to the guru Lokeśvara). The supreme Avalokiteśvara, the embodiment of the compassion of all Buddhas, is especially loving towards the beings of this land, appearing in the form of an incomparable virtuous friend, may the sprout of the all-pervading Jigme Gyalwa protect us without separation in all lifetimes. Nowadays, in this evil age of the five degenerations, most beings

Seized by the iron hook of ignorance. Hating all virtuous spiritual friends like enemies. Especially harsh towards those who practice according to the Dharma. Developing wrong views towards the words of excellent teachings. When hearing the Vinaya of the sacred Dharma, the mind becomes agitated. Looking upon the signs of ordination with contempt. Greatly exaggerating the faults of the teachings of the Three Baskets. Saying that the gods and protectors are angered by explanations and practice. Holding the upholders of the teachings, established by valid cognition, as demons. Casting aside the Early Translation teachings and ancient treasures. Worshipping almost all counterfeits as jewels on the crown of the head. Showing particular respect for the Dharma deluded by spirits. Calling the breaking of vows the conduct of accomplished ones. Calling theft the search for the treasure mother. Saying that attachment and aversion are the disruption of dependent origination. Some foolish and ignorant people regard this as true. The perpetrators of evil deeds support each other. All monks and nuns who have broken their vows are highly regarded. Those who uphold the Buddha's teachings are demeaned. In the monasteries where the Sangha gathers. Fake monks, Mongolians, and arrogant people with beautiful hair and fine clothes. Gathering to talk about war, women, and business. Shouting, laughing loudly, showing off strength, and fighting each other. Not to mention the generation and completion stages, not even a single mani stone. Yet they seize the property of the dead and the living. Wearing yellow robes during the day and consuming monastic property. Drinking alcohol at night and fighting over women. Committing all kinds of evil deeds, yet highly regarded. Still shamelessly claiming that the teachings are flourishing. Shameless bull-headed people. Who with a mind would not feel sadness upon seeing this? Obstacles arise to the lives of the upholders of the teachings. Those who desire the Dharma also go to other countries. Those who perform death rituals are fond of remote places. Those who tame their own minds discuss the Sangha in their minds. Those who care for the teachings and beings heave long sighs. Thinking and thinking, sadness arises from the heart. Thinking and thinking, truly beings of strife. Thinking and thinking, the Buddha's teachings are declining. Thinking and thinking, it is the time of the characteristics of the degenerate age. Alas! Alas! Omniscient One! For the courage to tame beings difficult to tame. Like a lotus among many heroes. Was it not you who proclaimed the great drum of praise? The sun of the teachings of the golden Thubpa Gon has set. The white conch moon of Mipham has not yet risen. At this time, if the Protector also dwells in peace. Who will guide all these ignorant ones?
