Those who are criticized by all, fools with high self-esteem, children who know nothing, and those who do not listen to both praise and criticism – there are three types of people like that. One's own close relatives, unfamiliar lamas, and indeed anyone. There are many such examples. In short, always look at yourself, never forget. Both Dharma and worldly matters are contained here. The instruction is just one word, extremely profound. The yogi Stainless Intellect imparted this advice to his son, who was like Śrī-sñiṅ, so practice it! May it be virtuous! Kunzang Advice to the Dharma King: All the kings and princes, all of them. The source where all compassion and blessings converge is the kind lama, the perfect Buddha. May he always remain inseparable, as an ornament on the crown of my head. Whoever understands well that all places in samsara are vessels of faults, like the swaying of a poisonous snake, and wishes to embark on the path of true liberation, for all those, the practice is as follows: First, renunciation is the beginning of Dharma. From the joyous Tushita heaven above, down to the three realms of suffering below, know that this place of samsara is like a pit of fire, and therefore you must study the path of the three vehicles. Second, bodhichitta is the body of Dharma. Knowing all beings as your fathers and mothers, the mind that wishes to attain Buddhahood for their sake must arise from the depths of your heart, not artificially. Finally, the correct view and its practice are the feet of Dharma that quickly cross to the other shore. Establish all phenomena of appearance and existence in the state of emptiness, free from elaboration, through scripture and reasoning. The root of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana is one's own mind. Mind has no place of origin in the beginning, no basis of abiding in the middle, and is emptiness itself. In the end, it is free from coming and going, the natural state. On one's own mind, which is separated from the three – origin, place, and going – there is nothing to see; when you look at its own face, you see emptiness. Emptiness has nothing good in it; it is the nature of mind. If you see the unobstructed emptiness where there is no place to abide, that is the view. In the practice of that view of the natural state, whatever arises – appearances, deluded thoughts – without accepting or rejecting, without special clinging, let them dissolve naturally. This is the meditation of equipoise, free from distraction and focus. Towards the appearances of objects, joy and sorrow, attachment and aversion, hope and fear, do not accept or reject, do not negate or affirm anything. In the state of equality of all, going and staying, let them appear as a play of illusion; that is the conduct. In short, recognize your own mind.

Understanding is observation. Abiding in that state is meditation. Mixing that with conditions is the essence of conduct. View, meditation, conduct, and result are not different. The most important thing about view is having no attachment. The essence of meditation is having no grasping. The most excellent thing about conduct is being in accordance with Dharma. Integrating view, meditation, conduct, and result is key. In any case, Dharma that is not beneficial to one's own mind, is just verbal Dharma, not true Dharma. If there is no change in one's own mind, even if one practices retreat for a hundred years, it is just a cause for exhaustion. Therefore, all the essential points of the true Dharma, are abandoned, like a practitioner who practices an image. This kind of practice, like a parrot reciting scriptures, I do not think is the unerring teaching of the Victorious Ones. Year-end retreats, month-end retreats, verbal numbers are completed, even if one recites billions of times, the number is fulfilled, if the attachment, aversion, and ignorance in the mind do not decrease, I think that Dharma is completely meaningless. The four-session ritual without generation and completion stages, the noisy drum music without fierce recollection, the mumbling recitation without samadhi, for the path of liberation, there is not even a slight approach. If there really are generation and completion stages and samadhi, if it is not connected with the true Bodhicitta, from the seeds of illusory appearance and samsara, it is not beneficial for attaining the state of omniscience. Therefore, for Dharma appearances without essential points, and wandering monks who practice for illusory appearances in this life, and small lamas who are greedy for offerings and have no leisure, do not imitate them, tame your own mind with Dharma. Tame the mind, tame the mind, tame your own mind with Dharma. If you tame your own mind with the four thoughts that turn the mind, even if there is no view, meditation, recitation, generation and completion stages, you will not stray from the path of liberation. Mind training! Mind training! Train your own mind! If you train your own mind with Bodhicitta, even if you do not accomplish a single virtue of body and speech, you will effortlessly accomplish the benefit of oneself and others. For the important Bodhicitta, even for one session, if you do not practice, but practice the generation and completion stages, and the image of a Dharma practitioner who recites for years, his mouth can be compared to a beggar from nine villages. Friend, if you intend to practice true Dharma, Mind training! Mind training! Train compassion and Bodhicitta! Please remember this important saying repeated nine times, Tame your own mind with Dharma, that is the key.
