The emanation of the Buddhas, the Bodhichitta of the three times. The master of the ten bhumis, the supreme lamp of the world. You who have become the ornament of the heavenly realms, you are truly wonderful! Thus it was said. The first dream is a sign of attaining the intention of all Buddhas and becoming their regent. The second is a sign of subduing all demons and cutting off the root of the three poisons. The third is a sign of dispelling the darkness of disciples' minds and becoming a lamp for the teachings. The fourth is a sign of pacifying the heat of afflictions with the nectar of self-arisen Ati, and spontaneously accomplishing the fruit, the vehicle of Ati. Again, all the Buddhas of the three times gathered and urged glorious Vajrasattva. Possessing the skillful means of precious illusion, open the door to whatever the disciples desire, and grant effortless wealth. Thus urged, from the heart of Shri Vajrasattva (Tibetan: ཤྲཱི་བཛྲ་ས་ཏྭ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: śrīvajrasattva, Sanskrit Romanization: shri vajrasattva, Literal Chinese Meaning: Auspicious Vajrasattva) arose a wheel of self-igniting jewels, which was entrusted to Vajrasattva, saying: The secret meaning of non-dual wisdom, the uncreated, effortless primordial Buddha, the path of the great Madhyamaka, teach it to the assembled retinue. Thus urged, Vajrasattva vowed to speak. Vajrasattva (Tibetan: བཛྲ་ས་ཏྭ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: vajrasattva, Sanskrit Romanization: vajrasattva, Literal Chinese Meaning: Vajrasattva) is vast as the sky, it is very difficult for me to proclaim that which is beyond the realm of words. In order to make the uncomprehending understand through the door of words, liberate the yogis in whatever way is appropriate. Thus he promised. Then, Vajrapani, in the eastern pure land of Vajra Appearance, to the Tathagata Vajra Secret and all the Vajra family; in the southern Loka realm of Jewel Appearance, to the Tathagata Jewel Foot and all the Ratna family; in the western Padma Heap, to the Bhagavan Padma Light and the inconceivable Padma family; in the northern Pure Accomplishment, to the Tathagata Accomplishment Appearance and the infinite Karma family; and in the central boundless realm, to the Tathagata Shri Vairochana (Tibetan: ཤྲཱི་བཻ་རོ་ཙ་ནཱ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: śrī vairocanā, Sanskrit Romanization: shri vairochana, Literal Chinese Meaning: Auspicious Vairochana) and many Buddhas of the Tathagata family, cutting through the essence of the extraordinary teachings, the self-arisen intention of effortlessness, the additions and subtractions of the meaning of Ati Yoga, the Dharma beyond cause and effect, and taking the essence of the intention of all the Buddhas, the thirty-

In the central chamber of the palace named "Complete Victory" in the celestial realm, atop the nine-pointed vajra pinnacle of the main pillar, Vajrapani, knowing that the son of the gods, Sem Lhakchen, possessed the merit and fortune, approached him. Upon the nine-pointed vajra of the pillar, Vajrapani sat on a throne of blazing jewels. An umbrella made of various jewels was raised. Offering many divine substances, he bestowed upon Sem Lhakchen the authority of the collective regency through the symbolic empowerment of complete investiture. He imparted the ten secret instructions of miraculous prophecy. And the seven freedoms, the five secret instructions, and many tantras and secret instructions, completely revealed at the final moment, were empowered as the holy regent. This wondrous essence of the teachings. Became known in the three celestial realms. May the reincarnated person, the heart-son. Flourish in the center of Jambudvipa! Thus he spoke, and the teachings flourished in the three celestial realms. Then, the history of its appearance in the human realm is as follows: In the land of Oddiyana, the land of the Dakinis in western India, on the island of Dhanakosha, on the shore of Lake Kutra, at the Vajra Cliff cave, in that delightful garden of blooming flowers, to the father, King Uparaja, and the mother, Nangsal Odenma, was born a daughter named Metok Sal, possessing a name, with exceedingly great virtue and Bodhicitta, having abandoned deceit and recklessness, ordained as a Bhikshuni, guarding the flawless and pure Bhikshuni vows, dwelling with a retinue of five hundred Bhikshunis. In the dawn of the eighth day of the first summer month (Tibetan calendar) of the Wood Ox year (year uncertain), in a dream, rays of light emanated from all the Tathagatas and transformed into the sun and moon, the sun dissolving downwards from the crown of her head, and the moon dissolving upwards from the soles of her feet. The next morning, realization arose, and as she sat having bathed on the shore of Lake Kutra, Vajrapani transformed into a swan, the king of birds, and condensed Sem Lhakchen into the letter Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: 吽), transforming into four swans. Descending from the sky, after bathing, three flew back into the sky. That bird, the emanation of the Lord of Secrets, touched the princess's heart three times with its beak, and infused a blazing Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: 吽) into her heart, and then flew away. There, she was amazed and recounted the story to her father and retinue. The father, the king, was amazed and delighted, saying: Perhaps an emanation of the Buddha will appear.
