The five consorts, on the summit of Mount Rimala, remembering all the Buddhas of the ten directions, uttered twenty-three verses of lamentation, such as, "Ema, ehu, ema klong! When the light of the teacher fades, who will dispel the darkness of the world?" Then, all the Tathagatas urged the Lord of Secrets, saying, "Lord of Secrets, listen! Has the armor of the past vanished? Do you not know the suffering of the world? Even having descended to earth with compassion, please dispel the suffering of the world." Having been urged, the Lord of Secrets promised to speak, saying, "In the beginningless and endless state, I will not abandon my vows. Whenever the time of urging arises, I will manifest miracles in the same way." Having said this, on the summit of Mount Rimala, he spoke the Sutra Gathering of Intentions and other teachings to the five noble lineage holders. In the land of Oddiyana in the west, in the island of Dhanakosha, Vajrapani, as the emanation body Garab Dorje, spoke the glorious Secret Essence Tantra, the oral instructions, the Kilaya Tantra, and the Matrika Tantra, among others. These teachings were also successively transmitted to Padmasambhava of Oddiyana. In particular, the way in which the teachings of the oral instructions of Ati Yoga arose was as follows: First, it flourished in the realm of the gods. In the Heaven of the Thirty-Three, the god Deva Sangpo had about five hundred sons born from his mind. The eldest, named Kunga Nyingpo, was more intelligent and artistically gifted than others of his age. He lived alone in a meditation chamber and delighted in reciting the Vajra Recitation. He was known as the Son of the Gods with Extraordinary Mind. That son of the gods had four dream omens in the year of the Water Ox: He dreamed that all the Buddhas (Sanskrit: Sarva Buddha) radiated light in the ten directions, and six rays of light circled sentient beings and then dissolved into the crown of his head. Secondly, he dreamed that Brahma, Vishnu, and Kulang were swallowed by him. Thirdly, he dreamed that the sun and moon in the sky came into his hands, and the entire world (Sanskrit: loka sarva) was filled with light. Fourthly, he dreamed that clouds of rainbow color appeared in the sky, and nectar rained down, and grasses, forests, precious sprouts, flowers, and fruits all grew at the same time. The next morning, he recited to the Lord of the Gods. The Lord of the Gods, Kausika, praised him, saying, "Emaho! The time for the effortless teachings of the essence to arise!"
