Limitless realms. And so on. Clearly manifested within the great state of clarity and emptiness coexisting. Thus, the meaning of the words is clearly explained in a coherent manner. Then, generate intense feelings of devotion. Hūṃ! In the northwest corner of the land of Oḍḍiyāna. (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།), (Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ), (Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ), (Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ!) And so on. Guru Padmasiddhi Hūṃ. As soon as these words are spoken, the Copper-Colored Mountain of Glory, the Lotus Light Palace, along with all that it supports and depends on, actually appears. Contemplate that it merges into the samaya being you have generated, inseparable like water poured into water. Second, offering the seven branches: In this way, the Vajrayāna path has many methods, is without difficulty, and is the realm of activity for those with sharp faculties. Therefore, by constantly training in accumulating merit with great mental strength, one can perfect the accumulation of merit of great kalpas of the pāramitās in an instant, and be liberated in one lifetime, etc. Therefore, the supreme and excellent field of accumulation of secret and unsurpassed merit is definitely the Vajra Master alone, and thus it is closely connected with Guru Yoga. Among the limitless doors of accumulating merit, which are gathered into seven branches, the first branch, the antidote to pride, is the branch of prostration: Visualize that you emanate hundreds of thousands of countless bodies, as numerous as the dust particles of the realms, and that all sentient beings equal to the extent of space also prostrate together with you, and recite: Hrīḥ. (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ), (Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः), (Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ), (Literal Chinese meaning: Hrīḥ!) My body, as numerous as the dust particles of the realms, emanates and prostrates. Generally, those who have not completed the five preliminary practices can also prostrate in conjunction with taking refuge, etc., and there are also practices that do so. However, this is the actual instruction on prostration, so prostrating in connection with Guru Yoga will be more complete. When prostrating, prostrate with the body, recite words of prostration and supplication with the speech, and with the mind, have devotion with the understanding that you know everything I do and with complete trust, and the visualization of yourself and all sentient beings prostrating together, etc. It is crucial to combine body, speech, and mind into one. If not, the mouth wanders, the eyes wander, the mind follows external objects. If someone walks or talks on the right side, the eyes and consciousness will be distracted in that direction.

And place the palms on the left cheek. If the same happens on the left side, the eyes and consciousness will wander in that direction, just like placing the palms on the right cheek. Let the mind be influenced by distraction. Merely prostrating and bowing repeatedly with the body alone, know that there is no essence other than causing suffering to one's own body. Moreover, when prostrating, the palms must be joined together, making the inside hollow, like a lotus blooming. If there is no space inside the palms, but the two palms are pressed together, or only the fingertips touch, that is not allowed. As it is said in the Sutra of Great Liberation and Expansion: "Like a lotus blooming, With hands joined at the crown of the head. With a body accompanied by immeasurable clouds, I prostrate to the Buddhas of the ten directions." And in the Treasury of Qualities, it is also said: "Putting aside inappropriate habitual bowing, With respectful heart displaying manifest realization, Holding the vessel of joined palms with the caution of a flower, Is adopting the conduct of a small bird." Then, gradually joining the palms at the crown of the head purifies the obscurations of the body. Joining them at the throat purifies the obscurations of speech. Joining them at the heart purifies the obscurations of mind. Then, there is what is called the five points of the body touching the ground: the forehead, the two palms, and the two knees. By prostrating with these five points touching the ground, the obscurations of the five poisons of afflictions are purified, and one obtains the blessings of the five aspects of body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities, and so on. Therefore, it should be done in this way. Then, when rising, one should also straighten the waist and, with palms joined, prostrate again as before. If one does not join the palms properly but merely waves the hands, or if the knees and forehead do not touch the ground but merely bend over, or if one does not straighten the waist properly when rising but bows in a hunched manner, etc., these are disrespectful gestures and are absolutely not allowed. The karmic result of bowing in a hunched manner is that one will take the body of a person called "carrying a wall corpse," who has a huge hump on their back and walks in a short, bent manner. Therefore, prostrations are done in the hope of gaining benefits. If prostrating is only to acquire a bad body, then it is better not to prostrate. It doesn't matter if you can't do many, strive to see if you can do the ones you can with truthfulness, cleanliness and complete purity.
