Place [offerings] in the four directions and four intermediate directions. Then, place the four outer adornments, such as the playful woman, in the four directions, and the four inner adornments, such as flowers, in the four intermediate directions. Then, [visualize] the sun rising, the moon setting, a precious umbrella in the south, and a victory banner that completely triumphs over all directions placed in the north. Then, when reciting "the enjoyments of gods and humans are complete without exception," pile these on top of each other without gaps, and if there are ornaments such as a crest, place them [on top]. I offer this to the venerable root and lineage glorious and holy lamas, and to the assembly of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Thus, it is said. At this time, some say, "complete without exception, complete and pleasing," but Je Lama (Tsongkhapa) said that this is not in the scriptures and is superfluous. These stages of visualization were only spoken of this much when Je Lama gave oral instructions, so they are not written here either. However, those who wish to know in detail should look there, as the commentary on the root instruction manual, the Detailed Explanation of the Condensed Intentions, elaborates. Then, offer the mandala of the three kayas according to one's own tradition. First, the mandala of the common Nirmanakaya. As explained earlier when arranging the mandala, the four continents, Mount Meru, the Brahma palace, and so on, count these as one. When a thousand such worlds appear, it is called the first thousandfold world. In the first thousandfold world, count a thousand four-continent worlds as one. When a thousand such first thousandfold worlds appear, it is called the second thousandfold world. Count the second thousandfold world as one. When a thousand such worlds appear, it is called the third great thousandfold world. There are a hundred billion four-continent worlds there, which is the field of taming of one Buddha Nirmanakaya. For example, like the Buddha Shakyamuni's field, the Sahā world realm. In such countless, inconceivable realms, all the holy implements of gods and humans, such as the seven royal possessions, whether owned or unowned, are all taken to mind, and on top of them, offer one's own body and possessions.

Longevity, merit, glory, and power: Accumulating the roots of virtue in the three times, together with objects of happiness and well-being, and all cherished and impoverished things, piling them up without any attachment or clinging, not even as small as a sesame seed, and offering them to the assembly of deities of the Lama's incarnation is the common incarnational mandala. On top of that, in the pure lands of the five great arrangements, unimaginable arrangements of fields and palaces, and countless goddesses of desire adorned with beauty and other qualities, are emanated beyond comprehension. If one cannot afford to offer to the assembly of deities of the Lama's Sambhogakaya, one should exchange offering grains to the extent of what one can afford. If one is poor, it is also permissible to offer the offering grains of one offering portion again and again. In any case, all impurities such as soil, dust, and bird droppings should be removed, and the offerings should be made pure. Saffron and other fragrant waters should be used to moisten and offer. In any case, considering those who are poor and without resources, and those great masters who can actually emanate and offer as many pure lands as there are dust particles on a single dust particle, it is said that even earth and gravel can be offered. If one has wealth but is unwilling to spend it on offerings and generosity, and instead makes up many seemingly true reasons based on mantras and visualizations, and pretends to be virtuous, it is just deceiving oneself. Moreover, all tantras and instructions say, "A collection of offerings that are pure and extremely pure," and "This pure offering of merit," etc. They do not say, "Offerings that are dirty and extremely dirty." Therefore, offering one's own saliva and filth as offerings, keeping the best barley for oneself and using the dregs for offering grains and roasted barley flour, etc., is not appropriate. Similarly, as the old Kadampa masters said, "It is not acceptable to keep the good things for oneself and offer the green part of the broth and the yellow part of the leaves to the Three Jewels." Similarly, offering the essence of butter and other things, and offering rancid butter and butter lamps, while keeping the good things for oneself, etc., is a cause of depleting merit and should be abandoned. When preparing food and tormas, the consistency of the dough should be about the same as what one would eat oneself. It is not right to make the torma dough too thin just because it is easier to make.
