Even if faced with death, one should resolve not to commit such sinful deeds. In the "Fifty Verses on the Guru," it is also said, "Thereafter, one should also cut off, protect, and practice." Similarly, in the "Sukhavati Aspiration Prayer," it is said, "If there is no protective mind, it is impure. Hereafter, even if faced with death, I will not commit evil deeds. From now on, I will make a firm vow in my heart." The power of the antidote is to constantly practice, and for the sins previously committed, to strive to perform virtuous deeds as an antidote. In particular, prostrating to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, rejoicing in the merits of others, dedicating the roots of virtue to Bodhi, generating the aspiration and practice of Bodhicitta, guarding the unaltered nature, and so on. Previously, a disciple of the peerless Dagpo Rinpoche, a practitioner, remembered eating scriptures in the past, felt regret, and confessed. Dagpo Rinpoche said, "Build that scripture." When he began to build the scripture, many distractions arose. He became annoyed by this and went to Dagpo Rinpoche, saying, "Even when building the scripture, many distractions naturally arise. Is there nothing deeper than guarding the nature for confessing sins?" Dagpo Rinpoche happily said, "In reality, that is it. Even if the sins previously committed are piled up like Mount Sumeru, they will be purified in the moment of seeing the nature." Therefore, in order to purify sins, there is nothing deeper than practicing Bodhicitta and guarding the unaltered continuum. So here, too, through the path that does not separate from these two, visualize Vajrasattva, descend nectar for purification, recite the Hundred Syllable Mantra, and so on. In this way, in the state of remembering the purity of the four opponent powers, the actual practice of Vajrasattva visualization and recitation is: Above the crown of one's head, in the sky one arrow-length above, visualize a white lotus flower with a thousand petals blooming. On top of that, visualize a full moon disc. The so-called full moon is a measure of size, meaning that like the full moon on the fifteenth day, all parts of the moon are complete, without any defects, and clear in all directions. On top of that, visualize a white "HUM" syllable, radiant with light. In other lineages, the "HUM" syllable has radiating and gathering light, and so on.

It is not in accordance with our own system. Then, in an instant, the syllable Hūṃ itself transforms, its essence being the peerless treasure of compassion embodying all Buddhas of the three times, which is the glorious root guru. In appearance, it manifests as the Sambhogakāya, the teacher Vajrasattva, whose body is white, like a mountain of snow embraced by a hundred thousand suns. One face, two arms, the right hand holding a five-pronged vajra of wisdom and emptiness, held in the gesture of pointing it towards the heart; the left hand holding a bell of appearance and emptiness, resting on the hip. The two legs are seated in the vajra posture. The body is adorned with the thirteen ornaments of the Sambhogakāya. These are the five silk garments and the eight precious ornaments. First, the five silk garments are: a crown, an upper garment, a silk drape, a body covering, and a lower skirt. The eight precious ornaments are: a head ornament, the two earrings (left and right counted as one), a necklace, the two armlets (counted as one), a neck chain and a semodo (a type of necklace, counted as one), the two bracelets (counted as one), the rings (counted as one), and the two anklets (counted as one). Embracing the white consort Yum Snyemsma indivisibly. The body appears but is without inherent existence, like a moon in water, or like an image appearing in a mirror, clear and radiant. Residing on the crown of one's head, facing in the direction of one's own face. To meditate on such a form is the power of the support. Then, the deity visualized in this way is not flat like a thangka or a wall painting. Nor is it like an earth statue or a gold statue, having the nature of a substantial object, a mindless, inanimate form. From the aspect of appearance, even the black and white of the eyes are clear and distinct, without any confusion; from the aspect of emptiness, there is not even a hair's breadth of substantial form composed of flesh, blood, internal organs, and so on. Like a rainbow appearing in the sky, or like a crystal vase without blemish. The nature of the kind root guru and the protector Vajrasattva, being inseparable, possessing the wisdom of enlightened mind, with great compassion, watches over me and all sentient beings.
