It is like this. The wisdom of thought is: Regarding all that the Lama has said, do not just listen and leave it at that, but practice it repeatedly in your own mindstream, and determine it through contemplation and investigation. Ask others about what you do not understand. Even if you understand, do not be content with just knowing and acknowledging, but be sure to go to a secluded mountain retreat and practice alone. When practicing, there is no need to ask others about the key points of practice, but rather to independently and autonomously complete the practice. This is the wisdom of thought. The wisdom of meditation is: After learning, engage in practice, and through meditation, generate in your own mindstream a correct understanding of the nature of reality. Determine it from the depths of your heart, be liberated from the arguments of whether it is correct or not, and see the original face of the nature of reality. That is to say, first cut off doubts through listening and thinking, and then, during meditation, contemplate in this way: The appearances of the five external senses, in reality, do not exist, but appear mistakenly, like a dream. Appearing suddenly from the assembly of causes and conditions, like an illusion. Non-existent things appear as existent, like a mirage. Appearing but unable to be established, like a heat haze. Appearing even though they do not exist anywhere inside or outside, like an echo in a valley. Without a basis and what is based on it, like a city of Gandharvas. Appearing but without self-nature, like the appearance of an image. Non-existent appearances appear in various ways, like a city of emanations. By observing these eight illusory metaphors of empty forms without substance, understand that the appearances of objects are false in nature. In this way, by examining the nature of the mind, which is the subject that experiences appearances, the appearances of objects will not cease, but the clinging and conceptual thoughts towards objects will disappear. Abiding in the state of realizing the nature of reality as empty and clear like the sky, this is the Prajnaparamita. Like this, if we further analyze these six Paramitas, each Paramita can be divided into three, making a total of eighteen. From these eighteen, dividing impure giving into three, it becomes twenty. Adding the Paramita of skillful means, it becomes twenty-one. The Paramita of power, it becomes twenty-two. The Paramita of aspiration, it becomes twenty-three. The Paramita of wisdom, it becomes twenty-four. If we divide it in more detail, each Paramita can be divided into six, making a total of thirty-six. For example, the

As for the perfections, for example, in the case of giving Dharma teachings, when the teacher who explains, the Dharma to be explained, and the students to be taught are all present and teach the Dharma, that is the perfection of giving. When teaching in this way, not desiring gain and respect, not exalting oneself, not satirizing others, and teaching without mixing with the defilements of afflictions, that is the perfection of ethics. Even the meaning of a single verse is repeated many times, enduring all hardships and difficulties to teach, that is the perfection of patience. Not being swayed by laziness and procrastination, and teaching without going beyond the time of teaching, that is the perfection of diligence. Not letting the mind wander from the words and meanings to be taught, and teaching without errors or omissions, that is the perfection of meditation. When teaching in this way, grasping the three spheres as non-conceptual wisdom, that is the perfection of wisdom, which is the completion of all six perfections. Furthermore, in the case of material giving, such as giving food and drink to beggars, when the object of giving, the giver, and the recipient are all present and give, that is giving. Moreover, not giving bad or defective things, but giving from one's own food and drink, that is ethics. Not getting angry even when begged repeatedly, that is patience. Not considering hardships and difficulties, and giving without delay, that is diligence. Not letting the mind wander from that to other things, that is meditation. Knowing the three spheres as empty of inherent existence, that is wisdom. All six perfections are complete. Similarly, ethics and other things can be inferred in the same way. Furthermore, if we gather these perfections together, Jetsun Milarepa said: In the perfection of abandoning self-grasping, there is no separate giving. In the perfection of abandoning deceit, there is no separate ethics. In the perfection of not fearing the meaning, there is no separate patience. In the perfection of inseparable practice, there is no separate diligence. In the perfection of abiding in nature, there is no separate meditation. In the perfection of realizing reality, there is no separate wisdom. In the perfection of all actions being Dharma, there is no separate means. In the perfection of subduing the four maras, there is no separate power. Accomplishing the two benefits.
