Moreover, they must be immediately placed in the state of bliss and high status of gods and humans. When each sentient being obtains even a small amount of merit or wealth due to their own karma, what reason is there to be unhappy? Once one's own mind is defiled by jealousy, one does not see the good qualities of others, and one accumulates great sins. In the past, when Jetsun Milarepa's fortune and activities were flourishing, a teacher of philosophy named Darlo became jealous and came to debate. Although Jetsun showed many clairvoyances and miracles, he did not believe and only slandered and defamed him. Later, he was born as a great demon. Also, a teacher of philosophy named Geshe Tsakpuwa poisoned Jetsun out of jealousy. Therefore, even if the Buddha himself were to appear to a jealous person, he would not be able to guide him, because his mind is defiled by jealousy and he does not see the good qualities of others. Because he does not see good qualities, he does not generate even a hair's breadth of faith. Because he does not generate faith, he is not a suitable vessel for compassion and blessings. Devadatta and Lekskar were the brothers of the Bhagavan, but they were disturbed by jealousy. They did not want to generate even a little faith in the Bhagavan, so even though they stayed with the teacher for a lifetime, there was no way to tame them. Moreover, merely holding evil thoughts towards others does not harm them in the slightest, but one accumulates great sins. In the past, there were two Geshes who were rivals. When one heard that the other had a woman, he said to his attendant, "Brew a delicious tea, I have heard good news." The attendant brewed the tea and offered it, and asked, "What good news did you hear?" (The man replied,) "It is said that our rival has a woman." When Kunpang Drakgyal heard this, his face turned black and he asked, "Which of the two has the greater sin?" It is said. Therefore, constantly cultivating jealousy and competitiveness does not benefit oneself or harm others. It is meaningless to accumulate one's own sins, so abandon such evil thoughts and always rejoice from the bottom of your heart in the qualities and favorable conditions that others possess, such as lineage, appearance, wealth, and learning, and think, "This person has such qualities and wealth, I am so happy."

How wonderful it would be if this (being) could be enriched and perfected with glory such as strength and wealth greater than these, and hearing, merit, etc.! Meditate on this from the bottom of your heart. Immeasurable joy is like a mother monkey finding a pebble after losing it. The mother monkey loves her child more than other beings, so if she loses her pebble, she will be very sad. If she finds it, she will have unimaginable joy, and you should practice like that. Like this, these four immeasurables are the unerring cause for the arising of the characteristic Bodhicitta in one's own mind stream, so no matter what, you must meditate until it arises in your mind stream. Like this, if these four immeasurables are summarized and made easy to understand, they are gathered into good thoughts, so you must practice only good thoughts at all times and in all ways. Formerly, when Jowo Je Lhachig was unwell, Dromton placed him on his lap and said, "Please bless this (me), because you have good thoughts." Jowo Je only valued good thoughts. When he was recovering, he also asked, "Have good thoughts arisen?" All the teachings also said, "You must practice good thoughts!" The goodness or badness of thoughts will transform all the good and bad of karma and the magnitude of power. If the thought is good, then whatever deeds of body and speech are done will become virtuous, like the story of putting shoes on ... before. If the thought is bad, then things that appear to be virtuous will actually become evil, so you must practice good thoughts at all times and in all ways. As it is said: If the thought is good, then the ground and the path are also good. If the thought is bad, then the ground and the path are also bad. Everything depends on the thought, so one should always strive to cultivate goodness. If the thought is good, then how are the ground and the path good? Formerly, an old woman and her daughter were holding hands and fell into a large river, and both mother and daughter were swept away by the river. The mother thought, "If this daughter is not swept away by the river, it is okay if I am swept away." The daughter thought, "If mother is not swept away by the river, it is okay if I am swept away." The two were thinking good thoughts for each other, and they died in the water, and as a result, they were both reborn in the Brahma world. Also, formerly in Bya Sa Ko Khar, there were six monks in a boat.
