Just gathering together. If you do not rely on the inexhaustible wealth of contentment to practice the true Dharma, then entering the Buddhist gate but doing worldly business is adding to your own suffering, and will be ridiculed by the saints. As Je Milarepa said: In general, the Victorious King of Men spoke of the Dharma to destroy the eight worldly concerns. Now, those who claim to be wise, are they not making the eight worldly concerns even greater? The Victorious One said that keeping the precepts is to abandon worldly affairs. Are the monks who keep the precepts now not doing more things? The attire of the ascetics of the past was to sever the ties of relatives. Is the attire of the ascetics of today not paying more attention to human relationships? In short, for those who do not remember death, what is the use of practicing the Dharma? So it is said. Now, the world of the four continents, in general, and in particular, those born in our Jambudvipa, in this degenerate age, there is not a moment of happiness, only suffering can be felt. Moreover, years, months, days, meals, morning and evening As time passes, the times get worse and worse, the kalpas get worse and worse, the Buddha's teachings, the happiness of sentient beings, all gradually decline, and thinking of these things makes me sad. Furthermore, Jambudvipa is a land of karma, therefore, good and bad, happiness and suffering, good and evil, high and low, all Dharma and non-Dharma are uncertain. Therefore, seeing these situations, one must adopt and abandon in one's own mind. The Omniscient Lama said: Sometimes observe the favorable conditions and friends that are in accordance with your own mind, understand your own mind, and experience will appear as a friend. Sometimes observe the unfavorable and harmful conditions, and it is crucial to develop aversion to mistaken attachments. Sometimes observe the teacher of friends and others, understand good and bad, and it is an encouragement to practice. Sometimes observe the wonders of earth, water, fire, and wind in the sky, and know that effort will disappear in the natural state of mind. Sometimes observe your own homeland, city, and possessions, know them as illusory, and aversion will arise to the attachment to illusions. Sometimes observe the wealth and possessions of others, generate compassion, and abandon the desires of samsara. In short, for all kinds of phenomena that appear, by examining their nature, one can destroy the attachment to reality and delusion. So it is said, and so it should be practiced. The second is the abode of the gods, the suffering of the Asuras.

Generally, although the wealth and resources of the Asuras are comparable to those of the gods, in the past they were accustomed to non-virtuous jealousy and strife. Propelled by that karma, merely taking this body, they develop a strong sense of jealousy. Even in their own abodes, they contend for territory and clans. Because they are not in harmony with each other, they spend their days only in fighting. Looking up at the gods, they see that their wealth and resources are perfectly complete, and that all their needs arise from the wish-fulfilling tree. Seeing that the roots of this tree are in the land of the Asuras, they develop unbearable jealousy, so they don armor, take up weapons, and go to fight with the gods. At that time, the gods go to the grove of rough transformations and take up their armor and weapons. The great elephant of the gods, Well-Established, has thirty-two heads with thirty-two attendants, and the lord of the gods, Indra, rides on the central head. The army of the gods is inconceivable, surrounded by them, making the sound "Ku-svo-cha," and their splendor is almost unbearable. When they fight, the gods rain down vajras, wheels, short spears, and great arrows. The gods possess magical powers, and they can also lift up great mountains with their palms and throw them. Due to past karma, the gods are about seven cubits tall, while the Asuras are short. The gods, except when their heads are cut off, can be healed immediately by the nectar of the gods no matter how much their bodies are wounded, and they do not die. But the Asuras, like humans, die no matter where they are fatally struck, so they are often defeated in battle. The gods' great elephant, Well-Protected, binds a wheel of swords to its intoxicated trunk and releases it, killing hundreds of thousands of Asuras. Their corpses roll down the slopes of Mount Meru and fall into the great oceans of play. The oceans appear blood-red, and they are always only engaged in fighting. Therefore, even in the abode of the Asuras, they have not escaped the nature of suffering, and one must contemplate this from the depths of one's heart. The third of the higher realms is the realm of the gods. In general, while they are alive, although they have perfect happiness and resources, they spend their days only in distraction, and they do not develop the thought of practicing the sacred Dharma. Their lifespan lasts for kalpas, but the appearance of a single moment
