Like frost on snow, boils on leprosy, wounds on boils, the death of a mother after the death of a father, or the death of a loved one while being chased by enemies. Wherever one transmigrates in samsara, it is only suffering piled upon suffering, with not even a moment's opportunity for happiness. Third, the suffering of conditioning: What we now consider happiness is not actually apparent as suffering, but in reality, it is nothing but the cause of suffering. Eating, wearing clothes, dwellings, possessions, ornaments, feasts, and so on are all obtained through sinful means. All actions are nothing but sinful tricks. Therefore, the result of all this is only suffering. For example, consider tea and tsampa. Tea is a plant grown in China. When planting the seeds and picking the leaves, countless beings are killed. From Dartsedo (Kangding) downwards, when people carry goods, each person carries sixty-two packages. They all bear the weight on their heads, so that the skin on their foreheads wears away, revealing the white bones, but they still carry on. From Daofu upwards, when mules, yaks, and dzos carry the goods, they all endure unimaginable suffering from back sores, boils, and hair loss. Even during the buying and selling of tea, oaths and shame are disregarded, and transactions are conducted only through deception and quarreling. The goods traded are mostly sheep's wool and coral. In the summer, sheep have lice and maggots, and all kinds of insects and hairs, more or less. Most of them are beheaded and their waists cut off when shearing wool. Their entrails are removed and they are killed. Those that do not die are suffocated to death wrapped in wool, and can only fall into the lower realms. Coral is also a newborn lamb, with all its senses complete, possessing feelings of pleasure and pain, and its body is already developed. It is killed immediately after birth, while still enjoying the initial happiness of life. Even ignorant animals fear death and love life, and experience the suffering of being slaughtered. The suffering of mothers who have lost their children is like the suffering of losing their only child.

It is like how it becomes an obvious fact. If you consider things bought with such costs, even drinking just one sip will only cause you to fall into lower realms. Also, farming, first when plowing the field, all the worms under the ground are turned to the surface, and all the worms on the surface are pressed under the ground. Wherever the plowing ox goes, crows and sparrows and others compete to peck at the worms without any leisure. Similarly, when irrigating the fields, all the creatures living in damp places are exposed to dry places, and all the creatures living in dry places are killed by moisture. Similarly, countless lives are killed during sowing, harvesting, threshing, and so on. Thinking about these, just grinding bees into powder is nauseating. Similarly, butter and milk are also considered "three whites" and "three sweets," and are considered innocent and clean, but in reality, most calves and lambs are killed. Even those that are not killed, right after birth, are unable to suck even a mouthful of sweet mother's milk, and are put on a rope. If they stop, they are tied to a post, and if they move, they are connected to each other. All their food and drink, even a mouthful of milk, is taken away and enjoyed by oneself. The essence of the mother's body is taken away, and the nourishment of the child's life is taken away, causing them to be half-dead. Mother yaks and cows are also so weak in the spring that they cannot get out of bed. Sheep and goats also mostly die of starvation due to famine. Those that do not die are also made to have dry and thin necks, weak and feeble, and the only place they can go is a small area, and when they die, they only have the roof of a house. Similarly, all the things that are considered happy now, whether it is food in the mouth, or clothes on the back, or all the property, food, and enjoyment, no matter what you think about, are obtained through sin. The final result of all these is that you must endure endless suffering in the lower realms. Therefore, all the things that seem happy now are also the suffering of conditioned existence. Among the four sufferings of birth, old age, sickness, and death, the first is the suffering of birth. Like us, the people of Jambudvipa are born from the womb. In the center of the parents' sperm and blood, the consciousness of the intermediate state comes to take rebirth, and experiences the suffering of the stages of change such as curdling, thickening, hardening, and becoming round.
