As the power of compassion like a mother and discriminating wisdom increases, the two accumulations of merit and wisdom are perfected in a single instant. Therefore, Rongzompa Chenpo said, "The great perfection is the perfection of the two great accumulations." Thus, he established the explanation of the term. Seeing the nature of the Great Perfection's primordial awareness is the path of accumulation. Here, some believe that only the yogis who have realized the Great Perfection and hold only to awareness itself are on the path, and they disparage all other skillful means as being astray. Furthermore, they believe that yogis who have seen the view do not have the qualities of the path, such as compassion and renunciation. Hearing these evil intentions, some self-proclaimed scholars who speak without investigation denigrate the practice aspect of the Great Perfection, saying that it is not the true Dharma, and thus accumulate the karma of abandoning the Dharma. This is because they have not realized even a fraction of the Great Perfection's meaning, and they have not even seen the biographies of the accomplished ones of the Great Perfection of the past. Once the meaning of the Great Perfection's nature is directly realized, all aspects of subsequent cognition will appear as being without attachment and without object, and one will naturally be separated from attachment to possessions, etc. Anger and resentment, and all attachment and aversion to oneself and others, will be purified in their self-arising and self-liberation. Thus, one will turn away from all actions that harm others, and the four ascetic practices will naturally abide. One will abide in the yoga of effortless effort, like a naturally flowing river. The power of the lamp of self-born wisdom will arise as wisdom born of practice, and the wisdom of words and meanings, etc., will burst forth, and all the qualities of the six perfections will arise spontaneously without deliberate effort. All the teachings and treatises of the Great Perfection explain this, and it can also be understood by looking at the biographies of past accomplished ones such as Kunkhyen Chökyi Gyalpo and Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa. Even so, if one thinks that because the Great Perfection's scriptures teach that the ten natural qualities do not require effort or practice, one must necessarily abandon the practice aspect, then such a view is like letting the actions of body, speech, and mind run wild, and those who accomplish the rainbow body in one lifetime through the path of primordial purity and spontaneous perfection are...
