Merely nominally called practice, yet lamenting during the year-end, or merely reciting a hundred million heart mantras, etc., these lack even the common warmth of the signs of the path to liberation. This is because they have lost the key to the path and are cultivating attachment to mere images. Here, the saying, "In samadhi, the three realms become gigantic," means: First, it is clear in the realm of thought; second, it is clear in the realm of seeing; third, it is clear in the realm of touching. Or it means: First, it is clear in the realm of mind; second, it is clear in the realm of the senses; third, it is clear in the realm of the body. That is the meaning. First, in the stage where one has not yet become accustomed to the appearance of the deity, merely through the discursive thoughts of the mind or the verbal expressions of speech, one thinks, "I am the deity, such and such a deity." It is clearly manifest in the consciousness of discursive thought, therefore it is called clear in the realm of thought, or clear in the realm of mind. Like this, after gaining stability in the appearance of the deity through familiarity, one no longer needs to elaborate with discursive thoughts like, "It is like this." Just as an unblemished eye sense views an object, in a state that is inseparable from the awareness of non-discursive quiescence, the phenomena that appear, even the white and black colors of the light, are clear and unmixed. This is called clear in the realm of seeing, or clear in the realm of the senses. Finally, when the generation stage becomes gigantic, and at the time of uniting with the ripening wisdom, the phenomena that appear merge with the mandala of the deity, and ordinary, impure appearances never arise in one's own mind, and the stage when the illusory body or the deity body of union manifests is called clear in the realm of the body, or clear in the realm of touching. Here, the instructions on the four nails of life-force control are the key to mastering the emptiness life-force of samsara and nirvana. That is, in the stage of falling into samsara, the three doors of body, speech, and mind, together with actions, and in the stage of rising to Buddhahood, the body, speech, and mind, together with activities, are inseparably united, like being nailed down with life-force nails. Once one is familiar with this key, one can freely control all of samsara and nirvana, and the impure three doors are purified into the pure body, speech, and mind of the Buddha, and the activities of pacifying, increasing, controlling, and subjugating are inconceivable. Therefore, one accomplishes the deeds of the Buddha right now. So the key to the path of the generation stage is the four nails of life-force control. Other paths that are separate from this are called the adornment of a widow.

That is, "yuga" is the name for foot, and stretching the foot or being tired is the same meaning. In reality, it is just fatigue and exhaustion, and ultimately there is no result. Moreover, the distinction between wisdom and worldly deities in practice also depends on whether or not emptiness is realized. If the mind does not change and has the nail of Dharma nature, then even the appearances that seem like worldly arrogance can be taken as self-generation deities, and this can also bestow supreme accomplishments. If there is no nail of unchanging mind, those who view the deity and their own continuum as different, even if they practice a transcendent deity, will not be able to bestow supreme accomplishments. Because of attachment to the appearance of anger and desire, one's own continuum will immediately become bad, leading to more cruel actions, and through blood sacrifices without compassion, powerful worldly spirits will be accomplished, and one will be dominated by them. Even if it is called mantra, it is actually just the Dharma of spirits, which should be abandoned as stated in the Kalachakra, and ultimately one will fall into demons and Rakshasas. Section seven, taking conduct into the path, is easy to understand. Second, within the four branches of recitation and accomplishment, the way of progressing through the stages and paths of the four vidyadharas is shown: Generally, these four branches of recitation and accomplishment can be combined with one ritual, or with the number of times of practice, but here it is shown in conjunction with the stages of the path. That is, in the path of accumulation, the deity of empowerment is pointed out and entrusted, and in a way that does not violate the empowerment life and vows, one recites the self-continuum inseparable from the deity, completing the four yogas of the path of accumulation. In the path of preparation, relying on the exertion of practice, the signs of the paths of heat, peak, and forbearance are manifested, and in the great supreme Dharma, the state of the ripening vidyadhara is manifested, which is recitation. In the path of seeing, the actual meaning of clear light arises manifestly in the continuum, and the body of the degenerate age is burned by the fire of wisdom, attaining the state of no birth and no death, and is also close to the deity and the predecessors, so it is close recitation. In the path of meditation, the Mahamudra vidyadhara, which is identical in form to the deity, is manifested, and the benefit of oneself and others is accomplished simultaneously.
