These are easy to understand. Non-cognitive forms are, as stated in the Abhidharmakośa, "Non-cognitive forms are of three kinds: vows, non-vows, and others." Thus, vowing to do good is a vow, vowing to do evil is a non-vow, and good and non-good without vows are not vows. These also arise from the physical and verbal great elements and constantly follow even in states of mindlessness and distraction. This is only asserted by the Vaibhāṣika school, while the Sautrāntika and above do not consider non-cognitive forms to be form. Feeling is of three kinds: pleasure, pain, and neutral. Perception is of three kinds: vast, small, and medium. Formation is: associated formations, among the fifty-one mental factors, excluding feeling and perception, forty-nine are formations. There are twenty-three non-associated formations. The fifty-one mental factors are: feeling, perception, volition, contact, and attention. These are the five omnipresent [mental factors]. Aspiration, conviction, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom are the five that ascertain the object individually. Faith, shame, and embarrassment. Non-attachment, non-hatred, and non-ignorance. Diligence, pliancy, and conscientiousness. Equanimity and non-harming. These are the eleven virtuous [mental factors]. Desire, anger, pride, ignorance, doubt, and view are the six root afflictions. Wrath, resentment, concealment, vexation, jealousy, stinginess, deceit, flattery, harm, shamelessness, lack of embarrassment, torpor, excitement, lack of faith, laziness, carelessness, forgetfulness, distraction, and non-intelligence are the twenty secondary afflictions. Regret, sleep, investigation, and analysis are the four variable [mental factors]. Thus. All of these are different entities from the mind, and they are the same in terms of five similarities: basis, object, aspect, time, and substance. The two also rely on the same sense faculty, focus on the same object, both grasp the same aspect, arise at the same time, and are equal in substance. These also, in the retinue of one mind, have many mental factors, and the main and retinue are the same in five ways, so they are called associated. The aggregate of consciousness is: according to the Śrāvakayāna and most Madhyamikas, there are six aggregates of consciousness. According to the Yogācāra and some Madhyamikas, as well as the Mantrayāna, adding the afflicted mind and the ālaya-vijñāna, there are eight aggregates.

The six consciousnesses are: eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, body consciousness, these five are the five sense consciousnesses, and on top of that, the clinging to objects as this and that is the mind consciousness, these are the six consciousnesses. The afflicted mind is inward-looking, focusing on the alaya consciousness, constantly giving rise to the thought of "I", being arrogant in the form of self, this is not the time of noble ones in meditative equipoise, but in the state of ordinary beings it will never cease. The alaya consciousness is merely knowing, remaining in a state of clarity and awareness, not obvious, focusing on the vast container and content of the world. Such aggregates of appropriation are, from the aspect of being the cause of suffering in future lives, the origin, and from the aspect of being produced by previous actions, the basis of the truth of suffering. The five aggregates that are tainted and change as cause are the origin, and the five aggregates that are tainted and become the result are called suffering. Therefore, the origin pervades suffering, but suffering does not pervade the origin, such as the external world and so on. Thus it is explained. Furthermore, does these four truths encompass all knowable phenomena? It does not encompass. Because space and non-analytical cessation, etc., are not encompassed by cessation, so it is thought. Furthermore, is all the direct realization of the noble path encompassed by the four truths? It must be considered encompassed. Therefore, the cessation within the four truths is only analytical cessation, therefore it must be understood that non-analytical cessation and the absorption of cessation are not included in the truth of cessation. Explaining the twelve links of dependent origination, there is purpose, the nature of each, classification, how many lifetimes to complete, and the way to meditate. First, knowing all the phenomena of samsara and nirvana as merely the appearance of dependent origination as illusion, thereby not falling into wrong views, and having the necessity of ultimately attaining liberation from suffering. Moreover, in the sutra it says: This existing, this arises; this arising, this originates; that is to say, ignorance conditions action, etc. Because it is said, "This existing, this arises," it shows that all phenomena arise only from having a cause, thereby preventing the view that arises from no cause. Because it is said, "This arising, this originates," it shows that the cause also arises from conditions, thereby preventing the view that arises from a permanent cause. That is to say, ignorance conditions
