The warmth of the path is dream. The essence of the path is clear light. The obstacle of the path is bardo. The decisive points of the path are phowa and the six dharmas. First, the root of the path is tummo. There are karma tummo, experiential tummo, and supreme tummo. Karma tummo is: binding the actions of the body, making the seven postures motionless; binding the actions of speech, binding the breath into union; binding the actions of the mind, meditating on tummo burning, etc. Experiential tummo is: after meditating in this way, the signs of the wind and mind merging into the central channel appear as smoke, mirages, fireflies, etc., and the experience of bliss and emptiness arises in the mind. Supreme tummo is: from the way the wind and mind merge, the clear light drawn by the three appearances manifests, and thus the non-conceptual supreme tummo arises in the continuum. Second, the basis of the path is illusory body. There are also impure illusory body, pure illusory body, and hidden meaning wind-mind illusory body. First, impure illusory body is: contemplating all external and internal appearances as illusion and dream. Pure illusory body is: contemplating all appearances as deity body illusion. Hidden meaning wind-mind illusory body is: thus, habituating to appearances as deities, and alternating between the two stages of dissolution that lead to clear light, through habituation, the dissolution stage separates from the grasping of the ordinary coarse body. The illusory deity body made only of wind and mind appears as its own nature, and in other appearances, the previous coarse body no longer appears, at which time it is called the accomplishment of the illusory body. Third, the warmth of the path is dream. It is a branch of the illusory body. First, grasping the dream with either the power of intention or the power of wind, train to recognize the dream as a dream in the dream. Then, transform the appearance of the dream, and after grasping the dream, travel to the Buddha fields and the abodes of sentient beings, etc. Trample on places of fear, such as fire, water, cliffs, etc. Finally, view all the appearances of the dream as the nature of deities and palaces and practice illusion. Finally, also dissolve the illusory deity body through the dissolution stage and merge into clear light, and finally learn the method of the dream dissolving into the dharmadhatu. Fourth, the essence of the path is clear light.

Previously, in the stage of the illusory body, the deity image, like an illusion, is gradually absorbed into the clear light. Relying on the mudra of either one's own body or another's body of the fierce mother, one becomes accustomed to the co-emergent wisdom of the four joys. From this, the clear light guided by the four emptinesses or four joys arises in the continuum. These four emptinesses are: First, when consciousness dissolves into appearance, three types of conceptual thoughts, such as anger, cease. Outwardly, like the autumn sky stained by moonlight, a bright white appearance manifests. Inwardly, an experience of luminosity without beginning or end arises, which is called emptiness. Then, as appearance dissolves into increase, forty conceptual thoughts of desire cease. Outwardly, a bright red appearance manifests, like the autumn sky stained by sunlight. Inwardly, limitless bliss arises, which is called great emptiness. Then, as increase dissolves into near attainment, seven conceptual thoughts of delusion cease. Outwardly, a dark appearance manifests, like the autumn sky stained by darkness. Inwardly, an experience of non-discrimination without beginning or end arises, which is called extreme emptiness. Then, near attainment dissolves into clear light. Although it is said this way, in reality, the non-discrimination of the previous stage of near attainment slightly clears, and the clear light of inherent nature, the ultimate co-emergent wisdom, manifests as distinct, like the autumn dawn sky free from the three faults of defilement. This is called the clear light of all emptiness. The thirty-three conceptual thoughts of anger mentioned in these stages are: detachment from desire, intermediate detachment from desire, extreme detachment from desire, whatever is pleasing to the mind, those who go according to the mind, the departed, sorrow, intermediate sorrow, extreme sorrow, peace, discrimination, fear, intermediate fear, extreme fear, existence, craving, intermediate craving, extreme craving, attachment, non-virtue, hunger and thirst, feeling, intermediate feeling, extreme feeling, knowledge, the basis of knowledge holders, individual discrimination, knowing shame, compassion, love, intermediate love, extreme love, those accompanied by doubt, accumulation, miserliness, and so on.
