Beyond that, there are three unmixed qualities. First, the six unmixed behaviors are: having no bodily errors, the Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Arhats have faults in their behavior, such as stepping on black snakes on the road, because they have not abandoned the obscurations of habit. Buddhas do not have these faults, so even the opening and smiling of their eyes, and the extending and contracting of their hands, naturally become solely for the benefit of others. Having no verbal noise, Hearers make noises when they get lost in dense forests, and laugh loudly like horses, etc., having behaviors of not restraining their speech. Buddhas do not have these, so even the sound of their speech naturally transforms into benefiting others. Not having a mind that forgets, Hearers and Solitary Realizers forget some things, or do not use their clairvoyance without thinking, so harmful things can happen to them. It is possible that they do not know things at first, but all the actions of the Buddhas do not miss the right time, and because wisdom does not arise from effort, they constantly see all knowable things of the three times without thinking. Not having a mind that is not in equipoise, Hearers and Solitary Realizers enter into samadhi and then rise from it to engage in activities, but they cannot engage in activities while remaining in samadhi. Buddhas, however, teach the Dharma and collect alms while remaining in samadhi, so they are always in equipoise. Not having different perceptions, Hearers and Solitary Realizers have the perception of peace in Nirvana and the perception of weariness with Samsara, etc., having perceptions that include both good and bad. Buddhas see Samsara and Nirvana as non-dual, so all dualistic phenomena are purified in the realm of non-duality. Not having equanimity without investigation, Buddhas know which beings to tame, with which methods, and at what times, and tame them with those methods at the right time. Hearers and Solitary Realizers, even if they are meant to be tamed by them, miss the right time because they do not investigate, or they cannot tame them later because they do not know the methods. The six unmixed realizations are: the constant desire to benefit others, the memory of not abandoning the benefit of beings with their minds, the diligence of not tiring of teaching the Dharma even if they do not eat for hundreds of thousands of eons for the sake of one being, the wisdom of knowing all knowable things, the one-pointed mind.

Where does the samadhi reside? Having been liberated from the two obscurations along with their predispositions, and having obtained the wisdom of omniscience, the vision of liberation and wisdom is without decline. However, these declines exist in Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Arhats. The decline is twofold: decline due to not having attained, and decline after having attained. In the mind-stream of the Buddhas, there are unique qualities that are not attained and therefore decline. Some Hearer schools assert that even what Hearers and Solitary Realizers have attained in their own mind-streams can decline. The three unmixed wisdoms are: For all knowable things of the past, one engages with unobstructed wisdom; for all knowable things of the present, one engages with unobstructed wisdom. Unobstructed means without attachment due to abandoning afflictive obscurations, and without impediment due to abandoning cognitive obscurations. These Arhats have attachment and impediment, as explained in the four causes of not knowing previously. The three unmixed activities are: All bodily activities are preceded by wisdom and followed by wisdom; all speech activities are preceded by wisdom and followed by wisdom; all mental activities are preceded by wisdom and followed by wisdom. "Preceded by wisdom and followed by wisdom" means that first, wisdom with mindfulness is sent ahead, and then conduct follows it. Hearer Arhats have decline of mindfulness, as explained in the unmixed conduct previously. The eighteen unmixed qualities explained in this way are the tenets of the Great Vehicle. The Lesser Vehicle asserts that the ten powers, four fearlessnesses, three unmixed mindfulnesses, and great compassion are the eighteen unmixed qualities. Therefore, they do not assert that Buddhas always abide in meditative equipoise, etc. In the context of the qualities of the Dharma, the twelve branches of scripture are: Sutra: because the words are concise and the meaning is divided into categories; Geya: previously spoken extensively in prose, then recited again in verse; Vyakarana: predicting future events; Gatha: spoken only in verse from the beginning; Udana: without the need for others to ask, in order to establish the teachings
