La. Essence. Cause. What is to be abandoned. First, Jowo (Atisha): From "beings of the three thousand worlds, etc." to "omniscient one," meaning that even the merit of placing all the beings of the three thousand worlds in the grounds of hearers and solitary realizers is less than the merit of generating the first thought in the path of accumulation; even taking the merit of placing all the beings of the three thousand worlds in the pure white vision, etc., the lower path of the eighth ground and the faultless grounds of bodhisattvas, i.e., from the path of seeing to the seventh ground, as an example, it shows that entering the path of enlightenment, i.e., the tenth ground, has more merit, thereby showing the samadhi that has no other dharma to obstruct the attainment of Buddhahood. This samadhi, with what as its fruit, the Buddha who becomes its immediate cause, is the omniscient one with all aspects. Second, the cause: From "the object of this, etc." to "nature of peace," meaning that the object of this uninterrupted samadhi and this omniscience is the non-affirming dependent arising, like an illusion, because there is no truly existent thing. The main cause is the stream of mindfulness that, from the ninth ground onwards, holds the emptiness free from elaboration, without forgetting the object aspect of the omniscient intention for the sake of others, and the nature of the elaboration being nearly pacified from the beginning. Thus, the uninterrupted path and omniscience, the two objects and aspects are in accordance, and all the favorable conditions for generating omniscience in the uninterrupted path are complete. Third, the wrong conceptions to be abandoned, there are two types: brief explanation and detailed explanation. First: On this, "those who speak well successively refute," meaning that for the object aspect thus explained, those who speak well refute endlessly from one to the next in the path of verbal expression, because the object aspect of the uninterrupted path is profound and difficult to realize. Second, the detailed explanation is from "the object is reasonable and" etc. to "sixteen pure ones." Meaning that, because it has been explained that all conditioned and unconditioned dharmas are without substance, the object is not reasonable; if it is reasonable, it should be an object; and because it has been explained that all dharmas are without self-nature, the self-nature has been determined, but the way to realize it is not reasonable; if there is a way to realize it, there must be something to be realized.

Furthermore, since it is taught that one does not fixate on either existence or non-existence, the wisdom of omniscience is unreasonable, because if there is omniscience, there must be two objects; similarly, since it is shown that the nature of suchness and freedom from elaboration are indistinguishable, the two truths of ultimate truth and conventional truth are unreasonable, because if there are two truths, there must be a distinction; since it is taught that one does not fixate on the three of giving, giver, and receiver, the practice of taking up giving and so on is unreasonable, because if that object exists, these three must exist. Since it is taught that there is no object to be realized, the realizer, the Buddha Jewel, is unreasonable; since it is taught that cessation and path are merely imputed, the Dharma Jewel is unreasonable; since it is taught that all phenomena are free from increase and decrease, the Sangha Jewel is unreasonable; since it is said that one does not fixate on the three spheres, the object with means such as giving is unreasonable; since the four extremes of existence and non-existence, two and non-two, are blocked, the realization of the Able One is unreasonable; since it is shown that permanence and impermanence and so on are merely elaborations of the mind, it is unreasonable that grasping aggregates and so on as permanent and so on is perverse; since it is taught that the result of the nirvana of hearers and solitary realizers is not manifested, it is unreasonable that bodhisattvas cultivate the three paths; since it is taught that there is nothing to be adopted, the antidote is unreasonable; since it is taught that there is nothing to be abandoned, the opposing side is unreasonable; since it is taught that all phenomena have no characteristics and no basis for characteristics, common and uncommon characteristics are unreasonable; since the self-characteristics and general characteristics to be cultivated have no nature, it is unreasonable to cultivate the path in order to attain omniscience. Those who are skilled in debating the profound meaning consider the various wrong conceptions that hold the two truths to be contradictory to be the sixteen aspects of the support related to the all-knowing wisdom. Those opponents mostly rely on the ultimate truth to negate the conventional truth, and rely on the conventional truth to negate the commitment of the ultimate truth, so they are eliminated by the way that the two truths are not contradictory. The commentary on the fifth chapter, the chapter on the realization of the peak, from the Ornament for Clear Realization, a treatise on the instructions of the Perfection of Wisdom, is completed. Second, the branch of stable cause and effect is extensive.
