Third, the signs of non-retrogression are: the twenty, sixteen, and eight signs of turning away from form, etc. That is, from form to omniscience, by realizing the lack of inherent existence, great compassion, represented by the wisdom that turns away from the clinging to truth in them, that is, the continuity of skillful means and wisdom is extremely stable, these two are the main signs, and the others can be regarded as minor parts. Fourth, the way to infer non-retrogression from signs is: from seeing that a certain sign is possessed in the subsequent attainment, it can be inferred that unsurpassed enlightenment will definitely arise without interruption.

One obscuration, and the obstruction to the aggregate of samādhi, the obscuration of regret, which appears as agitation and remorse in the face of unpleasant objects that are not pacified, one obscuration, and the obscuration of doubt about the truth. These five obscurations exist in the desire realm, and although there are two each of sleep and drowsiness, agitation and regret, the reason for combining them into one is that the incompatibility, or antidote, food, and actions are the same, so it is said. The antidote to the first two is the perception of light. There are five kinds of food: contempt, displeasure, unsuitable food, unsuitable food temperature, and discouragement. The action is that both cause the mind to be discouraged. The antidote to the latter two is śamatha. There are four kinds of food: the non-dying conceptualization of the realm of relatives, and the recollection of past play, laughter, entertainment, etc. The action is that both cause the mind to be unpacified. Therefore, it is said: In the desire realm, the obscurations are incompatible, and because the food and actions are the same, the two are combined into one aggregate of harm, and because of doubt, there are actually five. So it is said. Second, three points are derived from the signs of the path of seeing. First, the opposite of right livelihood, the five wrong livelihoods are: As stated in the Ratnāvalī: For the sake of gain and respect, pretending to subdue the senses; for the sake of gain and respect, flattering words; for the sake of obtaining, praising the possessions of others; for the sake of gain, openly slandering others; for the sake of obtaining gain, praising what was previously obtained. So it is. Second, in the context of the aspects of the truth of cessation, examining the limits of the sense faculties to be refuted is divided into two: the nature of what is to be refuted, and in which realm it is to be eliminated. First, the nature of what is to be refuted is divided into four: the sense faculties, the basis of the sense faculties, the objects of the sense faculties, and clinging to self. First, the sense faculties are divided into three: their respective natures, the cause of the determination of number, and the limits of the last three. First, their respective natures are: among the twenty-two faculties, the six faculties from the eye to the mind are focused on the five individual objects and the sum of the six objects, the two faculties of male and female are the nature and difference of those two, the life faculty is the continuous existence of the aggregates from birth to death, and trade.

The five are: pleasure, mental pleasure, suffering, mental displeasure, and equanimity. The first two give rise to attachment, the next two give rise to anger, and the last one gives rise to ignorance, hence they are all-pervasive afflictions. The five from faith to wisdom are worldly purifications. The last three are the attainment of the latter two and nirvana without remainder, the abandonment of what is to be abandoned by seeing and what is to be abandoned by cultivation, and the establishment as faculties by the meaning of being in control of dwelling in pleasure in the present life. Among these, the first fourteen are called the faculties of all-pervasive afflictions, and the last eight are called the faculties of purification. However, this is not definitive, otherwise the mind and the three feelings would not have a path of transcendence. The five, such as faith, are mostly said to be worldly, but the reason for their uncertainty is as before. Among these, six are imputations, and the rest are substantially existent. The two of male and female are parts of the bodily faculty, life is the state of the continuum of the aggregates, and the last three, such as faith, are imputed parts, so there is no separate substance. Secondly, the cause of the fixed number is: Depending on the basis of those who enter samsara, and their new birth, dwelling, and the freedom to closely enjoy the fruits of pleasure and pain, six, two, one, and five are established. In nirvana, likewise, depending on the four freedoms, it is determined as five, one, one, and one. Thirdly, the boundaries of the last three are, according to the Treasury of Knowledge: the five of faith, etc., of the path of seeing, pleasure, mental pleasure, equanimity, mind, and the nine that arise without outflows, are the unknown to be known or the unknown knower faculty. Likewise, the path of cultivation is the known faculty. The path of no more learning is the known possessor faculty or the known protector faculty. All three are established on the path of transcendence and explained as only without outflows, and the Sun Essence is also the same. According to the Compendium: the first is the fifteen moments of the path of joining and the path of seeing, the second is from the sixteenth moment onwards to all the paths of learning, and the third is established on the path of no more learning. These two are also similar, except that the Treasury of Knowledge masters consider the fifteen moments to be the path of seeing and the sixteenth moment to be the path of cultivation, so the boundary of the first, from the arising and non-arising of the path of joining itself, is the same. In the commentary on the Compendium, the basis of imputation for the first two also includes mental displeasure. The Twenty Thousand Verses says: the initial faith, etc., of a learner who has not yet realized
