Those that are divided into three groups of three, the three parts of the imputed Dharma path are named with the term "three." Therefore, the three pure lands, etc., are characterized by their own entities, and are the imputed three paths limited by the term. Therefore, regarding the three applications, from the two of being distinct or non-distinct, the distinct ones are established from the three pure lands, so the boundary of the first attainment is also that. The reason for imputation is that each land has three: small, medium, and large, and is similar to the three paths, so it is named. The necessity of naming is that the eighth and above are lands of pacified effort, so in order to dispel the doubt of whether there is no gradual arising of the path, and to show that it arises gradually, it is named. If it is not so, then in the patience of the peak application path, it is said to abide in the faultlessness of the Bodhisattva, and in the heat, it is said to destroy all predispositions, and in the stability, it is said to perfect the Dharma of the three wisdoms, so these cannot be the characteristics of the application path, and if all those indicated by the term "path" are the characteristics of the three paths, then repetition cannot be avoided, and because those are imputed, there is no repetition, so it is said. Some say that this is not the master's own system, but in the "Small Commentary" the author's own view is established, and from its two commentaries and summary, it is explained as one's own system, and not shown as another's system, so it is clear that it is one's own system. However, at this time, the great beings and other Tibetan scholars say that the realizations of the three applications are the actual three paths, and there is no harm to this, because they abide in the faultlessness of the Bodhisattva, and obtain patience for the Dharma of non-arising, etc., they only abide in the cause, and because they consider those to be concordant. Otherwise, if it is said that the wisdom of omniscience is generated as actual, then one would become a Buddha in the second moment of the eighth, and if it is through indirect means, then it is the same for the former. The Lord said that the three wisdoms are the object and the four applications are the cause, so dividing the three wisdoms into the seventh land and beyond, etc., and dividing the applications into the eighth land and beyond, etc., is not the intention of the treatise, so it is said. These are very difficult to answer, and although the paths of the six realizations are not distinguished as having or not having characteristics, the three wisdoms

As it is said, it is the object of hearing and thinking; the three combinations that are said are through the path of practice; the initial paths are also to symbolize the three wisdoms of what should be attained, what should be generated, and what should be abandoned in sequence; the latter paths are for the meaning of obtaining empowerment; by the reason of obtaining; and again, there is a difference of three in mixing them. Because the repetition of common and individual is abandoned, it is appropriate to follow the noble ones in this aspect. Secondly, there are five types of individuals who are the basis for the arising of special combinations in the continuum: the irreversible individual; the meaning of irreversibility; the sign of irreversibility; how irreversibility is shown from the sign; and some explanations of the meanings derived from the sign. First, the irreversible individual is: although the sutras generally only mention Bodhisattvas, the venerable one considers this to refer to those who have gone from the path of application to the path of meditation. The path of accumulation is generally said in the sutras of the part of liberation that the Hearers and Solitary Realizers will attain complete enlightenment without falling into the state of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, and because the mind of gold-like bodhicitta is also present there, there is irreversibility, but because there is no sign of obtaining it, it is not established. Then, do those who abide in the three paths distinguish the differences in faculties or not? Most of the sutras and great treatises say that from the eighth ground onwards, there is irreversibility in all aspects, so to obtain the sign of irreversibility on the ground of ordinary beings, one must have sharp faculties. If the medium and dull faculties can also obtain it on that ground, then the previous statement about the eighth ground would not be reasonable. Therefore, in the impure seven grounds, it is also established that dull faculties have not obtained the sign. Although the sign has not been obtained, it is impossible to fall into the Lesser Vehicle after obtaining the ground, because it is impossible to fall from the true mind of the Great Vehicle noble ones. Then, is it the same as the eighth ground? There is no fault. Because below the eighth ground, self-grasping has not been exhausted, and as long as it exists, the mind of cherishing oneself will arise, so it is only close to the cause of focusing on one's own benefit, but from the eighth ground onwards, it does not exist. Second, the meaning of irreversibility is: the sutra says, "Irreversible from complete enlightenment." Therefore, irreversibility from becoming a Buddha is the meaning of what is irreversible. That is to say, all beings of the three vehicles will ultimately become Buddhas.
