Holding onto reasons for turning away from the Mother Prajñāpāramitā, and the six lower ones abandoning the Mother and entering the inferior Śrāvakayāna Piṭaka, there is no difference, it is only establishing differences from the opposite perspective. Just as if one abandons the root of a tree and seeks branches, one will not accomplish anything, similarly, abandoning the Mother, which is like the root of the qualities of the world and beyond, and entering the inferior Śrāvakayāna Piṭaka, which is like branches, is a weakening of manifest attachment to the cause of omniscience; just as a dog does not beg from a master who can bring much good, but begs from a servant who can only bring little good, similarly, abandoning the Mother, the root of all the Tathāgata's teachings, and entering the inferior Śrāvakayāna, is a loss of experiencing the bliss of abundant flavors and supreme fruit, the former is a loss from the cause, and the latter is a loss from the fruit, from the opposite perspective. Just as if one finds an elephant and does not know its characteristics, but seeks its characteristics from its footprints, similarly, not holding onto the Mahāyāna from the Mother, but holding onto it from the inferior Śrāvakayāna, it is impossible to find it from that. Therefore, in all cases, it is a loss from universally holding onto the Mahāyāna, it is a loss from both cause and effect, from the opposite perspective. Just as some people who want to obtain jewels, seeing the ocean, think that it is the same as the water in a hoofprint, and therefore are satisfied and do not enter the ocean, therefore the thing they want to do, obtaining jewels, is impossible. Similarly, thinking that the Mother Prajñāpāramitā is the same as the inferior Śrāvakayāna, and therefore being satisfied and not entering the Mother, therefore the meaning they want to obtain, obtaining omniscience, is impossible, therefore they always lose the thing they want to do. This is the first ten. Just as a carpenter who wants to build a mansion, wants to build a mansion whose size is equal to the size of the maṇḍala of the sun and moon, this is a loss of the connection between cause and effect. Just as seeing a king of a border region, one thinks that a Cakravartin king is also like that. Just as obtaining sixty days of tsampa, one abandons a hundred flavors of food. Just as obtaining a priceless jewel, one thinks that it is the same as a cheap jewel, abandoning the Mother and seeking omniscience from the inferior Śrāvakayāna, is a loss from the unsurpassed Dharmakāya, Sambhogakāya, and Nirmāṇakāya. Among the six losses, the first two are pursuing inferior fruits, from then on, one and three in order are although pursuing the Mahāyāna omniscience, but they do not understand that these are the meaning of the Mother, and only its cause. Therefore, the first two causes and effects and the following

Not repeating the loss of its cause and effect relationship is the essence of the sutra. Second, the eight causes of distraction from the Mahayana: First, clinging to many objects such as form and sound, giving rise to many courageous discriminations; second, merely clinging to copying letters as prajna; third, merely clinging to the absence of things as prajna; fourth, merely clinging to having finished writing letters as prajna; fifth, merely clinging to the absence of letters as prajna; sixth, remembering pleasant villages as equal to home, cities with eighteen kinds of skillful differences, towns with many merchants, regions where four ethnic groups live, etc.; seventh, gaining profit from obtaining jewels, respect from hanging silk decorations, and tasting the wonderful flavors of poetry; eighth, seeking expedient means from the treatises spoken by demons that are not the path to attaining Buddhahood. The above are two groups of ten. Second, relying on other adverse conditions: A demon transforms into the appearance of a monk and says, "How to change our scriptures, that is prajna, the extensive, intermediate, and concise are not prajna," separating the Dharma and people, and putting them into the union of separation; sutras that appear like prajna, showing false near-accomplishment; a demon transforms himself into a Buddha, causing him to generate desire, therefore generating faith and joy in what is not the object of faith and desire as it is, these are three. Second, the lack of favorable conditions is divided into two: both oneself and others, and relying only on oneself. First, relying on both oneself and others is divided into two: the former is the listener, the former is related to the speaker. First, the former is related to the listener: the listener has great desire for asking about prajna, etc., but the speaker is lazy and indolent, therefore falling away from the Dharma practice of the assembly; similarly combine: wanting to listen to the Dharma here but wanting to speak the Dharma elsewhere; having great or small desire for Dharma robes, etc., knowing damage and the opposite, not having great or small desire; possessing and not possessing the twelve qualities of practicing alms-begging, etc.; virtuous and desirous Dharma
