As it is said, "The numbers are correct." Third is the classification: Fifteen verses are the body of the expressing words, and the eight topics or seventy meanings are the body of the expressed meaning. Fourth is the definition: It is the body because it is established in its essence, accumulated, pervades the limbs, and acts as its support. Second, regarding the meaning of the limbs, there are two: a brief presentation of the body and a detailed explanation. First, in the brief presentation, there are also two: the division of the Mother from the perspective of number, and the way the divisions are distinguished by name. First, the division of the Mother from the perspective of number has three parts: explaining the meaning of the words, analyzing the differences between the three sets of eight topics, and showing the real and imputed aspects of the Prajñāpāramitā. The first is: How is the Prajñāpāramitā, which is praised and prostrated to in the homage, explained? By the way the Prajñāpāramitā externalizes the meaning into eight topics. Second, the difference between the three sets of eight topics is: In the "Lamp of Condensed Meaning," it says, "Manifest realization, knowledge, continuum, order, the eight topics are the expressed, the occasion is the expressing." Although it is not clearly stated in Śāntipa's treatise, it should be understood in the same way. Third, analyzing the real and imputed aspects of the Prajñāpāramitā has two parts: establishing the tenet and showing its validity. First is establishing the tenet: In general, there are five different views on this. In the "Three Mothers, Subduing Harm," it says: The samādhi vajra-like meditation without appearance of the Buddha's ground is the real Prajñāpāramitā, the nature of the subsequent attainment with appearance, the four wisdoms with and without conceptuality are the imputed Prajñāpāramitā, the wisdoms of the Śrāvakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Arhats are the result of the Prajñāpāramitā, and the scriptures are the cause, so they are imputed, and all the realizations of the path of accumulation and the ten grounds are merely the name of the Prajñāpāramitā, so they are considered imputed. The view of Ācārya Dignāga is: "Wisdom gone beyond is non-dual, that wisdom is the Tathāgata, because it possesses the meaning to be accomplished, therefore the scriptures and paths are its words." This is how it is explained. The meaning of this is that most of the earlier people thought that the non-dual wisdom of the Buddhas, like an illusion, is real, and the scriptures and paths are imputed. In the "Endowed with Qualities," it says: The samādhis of the ten grounds are the characteristics of the Prajñāpāramitā, and the grounds of ordinary beings and Buddhas are its cause.

They consider it to be nominally designated because it is both cause and effect. The reason for their view is that the Mother Sutra states that diligence in Prajñāpāramitā is the antidote to the ten kinds of distracting thoughts. They think that one cannot counteract them through faith and practice, and that the Buddha is also free from the activity of counteracting, so it is nominally designated. Jñānapāda considers wisdom to be the excellent discernment of dharmas, and "gone beyond" to refer to believing in no-self during the time of faith and practice, and being free from all discriminations upon attaining the ground. Vimalamitra considers the Prajñāpāramitā of ultimate wisdom to be the Dharmakāya, and from the arising of Bodhicitta to the nature of definitively accomplishing liberation to be the Prajñāpāramitā of the cause. Second, to show the side of its reasonableness: If one seeks the intention of the words of the teacher Dharmakīrti, it seems that, as explained in the Ornament of Clear Realization and the commentary on the Condensed Meaning of the Eight Thousand Verses, it is considered in terms of the main and the subsidiary. Even so, the scriptures

That which possesses this characteristic is the nature of the Dharmakaya. If distinguished, there are four Kayas. Second is the determination of number: For a person to attain Buddhahood, the objects to be understood, the path to be practiced, and the fruit to be attained are determined to be three. Therefore, the first is the Three Wisdoms, the second is the Four Applications, and the third is determined to be the Dharmakaya. The knowable is determined to be the Three Wisdoms, just as a merchant who hears of the profits of business goes to it. First, in order to generate joy in the fruit, the Omniscient Wisdom, which possesses the benefit of both self and others, is taught. Knowing it, one will go to practice its method, and knowing its wrong paths also depends on the Basis Wisdom, therefore, the Basis Wisdom is then taught. Practice is determined to be the Four Applications: It is not enough to merely determine the Three Wisdoms, therefore it is necessary to practice it. Regarding this, there are two: generating the realization of the path that has not yet arisen in one's own continuum, and making the arisen more special. Therefore, the number is determined to be four, namely, All Aspects is to make the unobtained obtained, Peak is at the time of obtaining, Gradual is to make the obtained more special, and Instant is just the time of accomplishment. Like the Hundred Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita, as previously explained, it is merely the appearance of the knowable in the continuum of the beings to be tamed as names and words, therefore it is not the nature of Prajnaparamita. Therefore, although the path is ordinary, it is not contradictory to the nature, like an ordinary person. So, what kind of path is desired? There are four aspects to this: definition, nature, boundary, and etymology. First is: The parts of the three Great Vehicle Noble Paths that realize all phenomena as without self-nature are the definition. Second is: The nature, the wisdom that realizes all phenomena as free from elaboration and manifest, is that which goes to or causes to go to non-abiding Nirvana. Third, the boundary is: Those who possess the nature exist in the three Great Vehicle Noble Paths, and those who are imputed exist from the Accumulation Path and the Application Path. Fourth, the etymology is: Because it is the most excellent of all wisdoms, it is Prajna, because it is focused on the ultimate truth; because it is the most excellent of all Prajnas, it is Paramita, because it goes to or causes to go to non-abiding Nirvana. Second, there are five ways of distinguishing differences by name: the nature of the eight topics, the determination of number, the determination of order, the boundary, and the elimination of repetition. First is: As it is and as many as it is.
