Therefore, all teachings are established as, the Buddha's wisdom is like an illusion, relying on the pure continuum of self-cause and the beings to be tamed as the causal condition, the consciousness of the beings to be tamed appears in the form of names, words, and letters. This is related to the continuum of the listener, not related to the continuum of the Buddha. Otherwise, if the Buddha has attachment to the inner consciousness and the external sound, then it is impossible to eliminate all the obstacles. The consciousness of the listener also arises from the power of the Buddha, so it is established as being done by the Buddha. For example, in a dream, the consciousness obtained by the power of the gods, such as mantras, although it is one's own consciousness, it is also said to be done by the gods. Therefore, as stated in the "Commentary," "Ornament of Light," "Commentary on the Twenty Verses," and "Establishment of the Continuum," the consciousness that appears in the form of names, words, and letters should be regarded as the teachings contained in the continuum of the listener. Second, the definition of treatises is, as stated in the "Commentary on Distinguishing the Middle from the Extremes": "The consciousness that appears as a collection of names, words, and letters is a treatise." Or, "The consciousness that appears as the difference of sounds that leads to the attainment of transcendent wisdom is a treatise." Here, two statements appear, the former is only the definition of a treatise, and the latter is a definition with characteristics. That is, for ordinary beings and the tenth-ground bodhisattvas, treatises are established on the appearance of the beings to be tamed and both. Even for the tenth-ground bodhisattva, one's own consciousness appears as the enjoyment body, and the external Buddha, as well as the appearance of names, words, etc., are also attached to as the words of the Thus-Gone One of the external realm. Because there is a subtle attachment, the speaker will appear in the same way as the nouns seen by the listener. Therefore, if it is thought that sound is a general continuum, then the treatise will become non-existent and become non-human-made, so the view of the Vaisheshika school must be admitted. If it is thought that the sound of language is self-characterized, then if the language is not expressed, the treatise has not been created, and like a rhinoceros, the Dharma will not be taught to the beings to be tamed. Second, explaining "sound": Why is it called "treatise"? Because it can tame the continuum of the disciples. That is, taming the stubbornness of the disciples.

By generating the three trainings, preventing the three doors of body, speech, and mind from engaging in what is not permissible, and engaging them in what is permissible. Thus, as explained in the *Distinguishing Dharma and Dharmata* and the *Commentary on Reasoning*, because these definitions are complete, the words of the Buddha should also be considered treatises. Third, regarding the meaning of the words, there are four points: What is to be expressed is that the realization spoken of by the teacher, the Buddha, from this *Mother*, is the path of the Buddha alone, and the remaining seven that are represented by it. The ultimate need is that the realization that is not experienced by anyone other than a bodhisattva, that bodhisattva with intelligence, through the *Mother*, ascertains the nature of the eight real meanings as they are, which is the mind of enlightenment, and the practice of practicing the Dharma, which is the ten perfections, together with wisdom, places them in memory, and thus traverses the ten grounds and ultimately realizes enlightenment. The need is that, for the sake of the ultimate need, relying on ornamentation to easily understand the meaning of the scriptures, which is called the need for writing ornamentation. The relationship is implicit, that is, through the phrase "the need for writing," it explains the relationship between the need and the treatise, and through the word "because," it connects the two needs. Second, regarding the nature of the text to be composed, it is divided into three
