Therefore, these are said to be the sound of the door of liberation, which is the meditation-born transcendence of the world. Second, the path of emanation has three liberations: one with form contemplating form, one without form contemplating form, and the liberation of the impure. First, the liberation of one with form contemplating form has six aspects. What is the basis? Relying on what ground? What is the object? In what manner? Why is it necessary to define the terms? Why contemplate? First, if the basis is the Mahayana, then it is the Great Accumulation Path and above; if it is the Hinayana, then it is the one who manifests the body of the non-returner, and the liberation from both aspects of the Arhat. As it is said in the Treasury of Knowledge: "The first three liberations are said to be born on the basis of human beings." Although it is said to be born on the basis of what is considered the actual ground of the earth, however, can a Bodhisattva meditate on the basis of the form realm and the desire realm deities? This is a question. Second, relying on what ground? In the Treasury of Knowledge, it is said: "These first two liberations are gradually meditated as the antidote to the attachment to the colors of the desire realm and the first dhyana, so it is thought to rely on the first two dhyanas." However, according to that system, these two are thought to be meditated as the unattractive, so they are not taken here. Therefore, here, as it is said in the Compendium, it relies on the extreme of the actual ground of the fourth dhyana. Third, what object to contemplate? The small external forms, good colors and bad colors, and bad and good ones, and the large ones are similarly combined. Among them, good color is what appears beautiful. Bad color is the opposite of that. Bad color is what is unpleasant from sound to touch. Good color is the opposite of that. Small is the form of sentient beings and enjoyment. Large is the house and dwelling. Fourth, the way to contemplate is: like a sick person, the contemplator himself understands that he has a form, and for the large and small, good and bad, etc., he contemplates without definitely making them larger or smaller than himself. The object of contemplation in this way, whether good or bad, needs to be free from attachment to it, and even if free from attachment, because he has not obtained the power of desire as desired, he desires to obtain it. In this case, it is necessary to keep the concept of form for oneself, and if one has not separated from it, it is easy. If one has obtained formlessness, even if one has separated from it, one should not manifest it, but keep the concept of form.
