That which, through the power of clear steps and so forth, is able to eliminate fabricated appearances, that itself eliminates the obscurations that have become its obstacles, therefore it is valid cognition for it, but not for other aspects. Although there is no difference in seeing blue and an instant, it is like being able to eliminate the fabrication of non-blue but not being able to eliminate the clinging to permanence. If one sees but does not generate certainty, then one should not say what difference there is between a noble one and an ordinary person, because no matter how clear the appearances are, they completely separate knowledge from the causes of error, therefore they are distinguished as superior. Presenting opinions and discussing whether they are reasonable or not, these are as stated in the Ornament for Clear Realization. If this is the case, since the suchness of the four truths is without parts, at the time of seeing, even if one sees everything, it is not universally the case that certainty arises upon seeing. In order to eliminate fabrication and generate certainty, it is asserted that the path of seeing is cultivated with sixteen instants, so sixteen kshanti-jnanas arise sequentially in meditative equipoise, but since there is no difference in the way the suchness of the object is realized, it is a single continuum, therefore it is one instant. The sixteen ways of explaining the different ways of realization are established in the way certainty arises in subsequent attainment. Third, there are two ways of explaining from the scriptures: Among them, from the Madhyamaka explanation, the Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning says: "At the end of the knowledge of dharma, if there is this difference, this extremely subtle thing, who can distinguish birth, the unskilled one does not see the meaning of dependent arising." This is the meaning of the root and commentary. Because of knowing that dependent arising phenomena have no arising or ceasing, the nature of suffering, origin, and path are also realized as having no arising or ceasing. And that nature is also the nature of cessation, therefore the nature of the four truths is realized simultaneously. Therefore, at the end of the knowledge of dharma, it is not realized sequentially in different ways of realization. Therefore, realization is only one. However, establishing it as fifteen or sixteen instants is established for the benefit of those who like elaboration. Not being afraid of the nature of the four truths is dharma-kshanti. Correctly applying the mind is dharma-jnana. At the time of subsequent jnana, one is also not afraid and has the power of wisdom, therefore it is subsequent kshanti and subsequent jnana, so it is thought. In the Compendium it says: The teaching abides

The establishment of augmentation and elaboration, and the establishment of the ultimate truth, each is self-cognizant and without elaboration. Among them, with regard to the first establishment, there are four Dharma-kṣānti in accordance with Dharma-jñāna, and four Anvaya-kṣānti in accordance with Anvaya-jñāna, totaling eight, and one mind of Śamatha, totaling nine, but because there is consciousness, there are sixteen establishments. With regard to the second establishment, it is said that one mind possessing the object of Suchness is complete. Moreover, the first is with elaboration, spoken for the sake of the Dharma remaining in the world, and for the sake of those to be tamed. The second is the way it arises in the continuum of a yogi, and is established as the definitive meaning without elaboration. In the commentary on the Abhidharmasamuccaya, the sixteen spoken of are also merely established as such. In this way, if one temporarily combines the latter view with the view of the teacher previously spoken of and acknowledges it, then it is easy to practice for the time being. Second, the path of meditation is divided into two: the aspects of the path of meditation and the path of meditation possessing aspects. First, the aspects of the path of meditation are six: being completely tamed and without pride, thereby being completely pacified; hearing that this reason is excellent, thereby bowing to all; destroying the weapons of self and other's afflictions, thereby conquering afflictions; for this person, whether someone throws poison, or casts a curse, or throws them into a pit of fire, or strikes them with a weapon, or pours poison, or throws them into water, they will not be harmed by these, therefore there is no harm that can destroy them; after attaining unsurpassed complete enlightenment, being able to truly see the minds of all sentient beings, is Bodhi; and transforming the land where one resides into a stupa for all sentient beings, is stupa offering, totaling six. The reason for explaining these before the path of meditation is that the content to be explained is small, and in order to generate joy and introduce the path of meditation. Second, the path of meditation possessing aspects is divided into two: with outflows and without outflows. The difference between these two is: the subsequent attainment with the conceptual thought of dualistic appearance, and the Samāhita without it. First, the path of meditation with outflows is divided into three: the classification of the path of meditation with outflows, the nature of each classification, and the summarization of meaning from the perspective of function. First, the classification includes the actual classification and the indication of boundaries. First, the actual classification is:
