Contentment with whatever is obtained by eating as much as one finds in mixed households; the mendicant who thoroughly begs from house to house, eating whatever is obtained, thinking, "I will obtain as much food as I desire from this household," and does not leave haughtily, is the alms-seeker who begs thoroughly. If these two are separated, there are thirteen qualities of training; if not separated, there are twelve. As an antidote to attachment to many foods, the "one-seat eater" who sits on one seat and eats, not rising from that seat; sitting for the sake of food, not eating until all the food that sustains oneself is obtained, thinking, "I will sustain myself with this," and then taking and eating all at once, the "non-subsequent taker" who does not take again. As an antidote to attachment to many clothes, the "three-robe wearer" who lives by wearing three robes made of patched cloth—an upper garment, a lower skirt, and a monastic robe—and does not hold more than these three robes; or the "rag-robe wearer" who holds three monastic robes and all the remaining clothes, all made entirely of rags; or the "felt-robe wearer" who wears clothes made of wool and cotton, etc., in the moonlight. Like this, the "rubbish-heap robe wearer" who discards clothes thrown in the rubbish heap, unclean clothes soiled by urine and feces, picks up threads, washes and sews them, changes the color, and then wears them. These two are to avoid attachment to soft and fine monastic robes. To avoid attachment to bustle, the "hermit" who lives in a monastery a yojana away from a village; the "tree-dweller" who dwells under a tree; the "open-air dweller" who dwells without a roof; the "cemetery dweller" who dwells in a place where people discard corpses—these four are to avoid attachment to dwelling places. As an antidote to attachment to cushions and the comfort of sleeping, the "constant sitter" who sits cross-legged on a chair or stool, or on the ground covered with grass, passing the time, not leaning on the back or a cushion; the "as-laid-down sleeper" who lays down once on grass and leaves as they are laid down, not changing or adjusting them again, remaining as they are—this is to avoid attachment to cushions, bedding, and covers. These are like the place for listening to the Dharma and the moonlight. Some consider the latter two to be in the category of conduct, and therefore explain the dwelling places as four. Second, the explanation of common terms: For example, when wool is not combed and not spun into thread, the body...

Now it is not allowed, and conversely, as it is allowed, if one clings to alms, robes, and dwellings, the mind is not capable. In order to abide in pure conduct with these qualities, by training the mind to be capable, this is called the quality of training. Third, the collection of antidotes is difficult to understand: the antidotes that pacify the four pairs of conceptualizations of grasping and grasper, namely the eight realizations of seeing, meditating, and equipoise, are the collection of antidotes. If it is said that the collection of antidotes appears as the nature of the two paths, since it is included in the collection of grounds, there is no point in explaining it separately, then, if it is not shown that the collection of antidotes has become the nature of the two paths, there will be doubt as to whether it is different from the two paths, in order to dispel this doubt. Fourth, accomplishing renunciation: the non-truly existent pervasive conceptualization, although without grasper and grasped, appears as an inverted nature, by realizing that all the worlds of the three realms are unreal, thereby overwhelming them, in order to specifically renounce the three great places that should be traversed; and the equality like space, with the stainless wisdom of realizing emptiness, the equality that pervades all objects of knowledge; and leading immeasurable beings to the path of liberation, which is the benefit to be obtained by all sentient beings; and like space, free from the effort of coming and going, the effortless and spontaneous renunciation; and the prior limit is permanent, the posterior limit is annihilation, and the middle established by the two is also non-existent, the renunciation of transcending limits and not abiding in nirvana; and by practicing the Great Vehicle, in order for the Buddhas of the three times to attain omniscience, the renunciation of obtaining the special characteristics of the complete stage of the qualities of each of the three vehicles; and although knowing all aspects of phenomena, without clinging, the renunciation of omniscience; and the object of the special path encompassed by the six perfections, which is free from the fixation on the three spheres, is renunciation. Thus, there are seven on the path of no more learning, and one on the path of learning, totaling eight ultimate places of renunciation, these are the eight accomplishments of renunciation, namely all phenomena are of the nature of non-fixation. Based on the non-clinging Bodhicitta.
