From the Compendium, memory, wisdom, and equanimity are considered to be of the same nature. The remaining limbs are as before. This is stated in the upper and lower Prajñāpāramitā Sūtras, as being free from both investigation and analysis. Among the five limbs of the third dhyāna, pleasure is simply the feeling of tranquility in the sphere of consciousness, which has become free from the agitation of joy. Mindfulness and awareness are the apprehension of objects and aspects that counteract the agitation of joy, and the actions of engaging or not engaging with it. Equanimity is the absence of imbalance caused by investigation, analysis, and the faults of joy, as it is free from them. Thus, memory, awareness, and equanimity are initially present, but are tainted by investigation and analysis, and secondly, they are obscured by the faults of joy, hence the term "superior." The limbs of the fourth dhyāna are complete purity from the eight faults of investigation, analysis, mental pleasure and displeasure, inhalation and exhalation, and happiness and suffering. These investigation, analysis, joy, and happiness are described as faults of agitation in relation to the fourth dhyāna, but are not faults in relation to their own level, as they benefit samādhi. The differences between these dhyānas are also the differences between complete and incomplete perfection in terms of samādhi, assistance, and complete purity, respectively. Third is the determination of number: these limbs of dhyāna are established from the perspective of antidote, benefit, and the location of the two. Superior investigation and analysis, the three of memory, awareness, and equanimity, and the complete purity of memory and equanimity are the limbs of antidote, as they abandon the afflictions of the lower realms. Moreover, the antidote in the stage of approximation is continuous, but in the actual practice, it only severs the connection with the lower realms and is not the actual antidote of abandonment. The pair of joy and happiness, and pleasure and feeling of equanimity, are the limbs of benefit obtained when the antidote is victorious over the lower realms. The limb of the location of all is samādhi, as it generates the antidote and benefit in the first, second, and third stages. Therefore, due to the influence of these three, it is not the case that there is no meditative dhyāna of equipoise that does not belong to these limbs, otherwise, thoughts and perceptions, etc., that possess similarities to these limbs

Therefore, mental activities associated with the mind are not any of the nine grounds. Because meditative absorption is not, and it is impossible to become something else. Thus, by abandoning the coarse and subtle aspects of investigation and analysis, it is established as the second dhyana; by abandoning joy, it is established as the third dhyana; by abandoning pleasure, it is established as the fourth dhyana. Therefore, the dhyanas are said to transcend the lower grounds through their limbs. Second, explaining the objects of the formless realms. First, the infinity of space is when a yogi who has attained the fourth dhyana sees the faults of form and the virtues of the formless, and in order to reverse the perception of form, he meditates solely on the perception of space, which is devoid of characteristics such as color, shape, and touch. As a result, the forms that appear as blue, yellow, etc., the obstacles that appear as walls and buildings, and the diverse perceptions that appear as clothes, ornaments, gardens, mountains, etc., all disappear, and even if one trusts in them, they will not arise at all. Similarly, for the three lower (formless absorptions), it is because they see the previous perceptions as coarse and eliminate them. The order is: to aspire to the consciousness that has space as its object pervading all places; when searching for objects of form and formlessness, one finds nothing, and thus aspires to "no object"; and to aspire to "coarse perception does not exist, subtle perception does not not exist." These cannot be established as limbs like dhyana, so they are called transcending the lower ground through the object. Third, explaining the result of meditating on these. In the Compendium, it says: "By meditating on the first dhyana, there are small, medium, and large, so there are three birthplaces of the first dhyana. Just as with the first dhyana, the remaining dhyanas are the same." As it says. Moreover, for the formless realms, although there is no distinction of high and low because of formlessness, there are differences in the height and lowness of birth due to the length of life, and there are also good and bad differences due to the amount of afflictions. So, what is the meaning of meditating on small, medium, and large? If there is no respectful and continuous practice, it is small; if there is one of them, it is medium; if there are both, it is large. This is how it is explained. Third, the signs of obtaining these are: when obtaining dhyana, the body seems to sink into the ground; for formless absorption, there will be signs of the body seeming to fly in the air. Fourth
