Substances, and the three completely afflicted states from ignorance to old age and death, and my detachment from desire from the cessation of worldly thought forms, and the path of seeing where I directly see the nature of the four noble truths, and the path of meditation where I become the essence of ultimate liberation, and the conceptualizations that arise as the basis of the path of no more learning where I have truly accomplished what is needed, these are the first nine grasping conceptualizations. The aggregates of form, etc., the sense bases of eye, etc., the eighteen realms of the form realm, etc., the twelve links of dependent origination such as ignorance, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the path of seeing which is the essence of the three doors of liberation, the path of meditation of the formless absorptions, the special path of realizing emptiness that excels the Hearers, etc., the basis of the path of no more learning such as the powers, etc., is merely imputed grasping. Thinking and clinging to these, these nine are the second grasping conceptualizations. Thus, these thirty-six conceptualizations, if divided by realms, each of the three realms has thirty-six, totaling one hundred and eight. Fifth, definite number: the objects to be examined are definitely two in terms of grasper and grasped, so the conceptualizations about them are also two. On the grasped, it is also definite that there are two aspects of common characteristics or great and small vehicles, so there are two grasped conceptualizations. On the object of clinging to the grasper, it is also definite that there are two types of substance and imputation, so the number of conceptualizations about its object is also two. Dividing each into nine is to teach those with minds who can be guided into the retinue, not a definite number inherent in the objects themselves. Sixth, definite order: the root conceptualizations follow the order of the four determinations, and dividing into nine branches is merely for the sake of stating, without reason. Seventh, calculating the four possibilities: the possibility that is a grasped conceptualization but not a grasper conceptualization is the six objects. The possibility that is a grasper conceptualization but not a grasped conceptualization is the consciousness with one moment. The possibility that is both is the consciousness of another moment. The possibility that is neither is the Prajnaparamita that is free from those appearances. Among these, the first possibility is the conceptualization of the six objects included in the dharmas other than mental factors. The difference between the second and third is whether or not it is made the object of subsequent arising ascertainment. This is arranged as it appears from the sunlight.

That is, while explaining the conceptualization of grasper and grasped, the grasper and grasped commonly spoken of in popular language are also counted as one, but the grasper and grasped here are not the same as those. Second, the antidote to abandonment will be explained in the peak practice. Third, the distinction of relying on a virtuous friend is, according to the view of the noble teacher, the first line of the root verse is the skillful means of the inner reliance, the second is the external reliance on a virtuous friend, and the third shows the contradictory aspects of the two. The first is that, for fear, terror, and extreme terror, that is, for the antidotes to the three fears of small, medium, and large, possessing the all-knowing attention that is the cause of not being afraid, not being completely afraid, and not becoming completely afraid, realizing in a way that does not fixate on the aggregates, etc., as the nature of the three doors of liberation, and giving that teaching to others; the discipline of not having pride in such realization; the patience of desiring and enduring in this way, and individually examining; the diligence of realizing in this way and not abandoning the all-knowing attention; the contemplation that does not distinguish the occasion of lesser vehicle attention; the wisdom that knows that the dharmas from the aggregates to the unmixed are not empty by their own emptiness and are inseparable from emptiness. Second, the external reliance is the virtuous friend who shows that the dharmas from form to the unmixed are without self-nature, and is skilled in means, and shows the works of demons, and does not allow the roots of virtue to be dedicated to the place of hearers and solitary realizers. Third, the contradictory aspects of the two are that the contradictory aspect of the skillful means of the inner reliance is that, because it is separated from the all-knowing attention, when meditating on the perfections from the Prajnaparamita to the unmixed, because of clinging to them, it becomes panic, etc. The contradictory aspect of the external reliance on a virtuous friend is that, regarding the scriptures that teach the six perfections, saying "This is not what the Buddha said, but the self-creation of a poet," thereby abandoning the scriptures; reversing from the six perfections and associating with the Vinaya Pitaka of the Hearers, thereby abandoning the path; and everything from form to omniscience, if I and mine are empty, then what is the use of becoming a Buddha, thereby abandoning the evil friend of the result. Therefore, abandoning those two contradictory aspects is reliance.
