Explanation: Furthermore, the Great Commentary states: The miraculous eye is the result of actions and meditation. The first is that gods, through the power of their own actions, obtain an eye with purified faculties, and thus see forms without obstruction. The second is obtained by yogis through the power of meditating on samadhi, and it is also said that they see the death and rebirth of sentient beings. Here, the miraculous eye is the eye of the gods. Kashmira summarizes that there are four types of eyes: holding form, holding ultimate truth, holding conventional truth, and holding all knowable things. Holding form also has two types: the result of actions and the result of meditation. Thus it is said. Second, the boundary is: the first two are from the path of accumulation. The third is the simultaneous state of the path of seeing. The fourth is the subsequent state of the path of seeing. The fifth is from the seventh because of conformity, and the characteristic one is only possessed by the Buddha. Third, the cause is: learning the six perfections and meditating on the feet of miraculous power. Fourth, the result is: ultimately attaining unsurpassed enlightenment, and temporarily, when accomplishing the benefit of others, one knows the methods oneself, and thus does not rely on others. Third, the perfection of accomplishing all qualities, the instruction on the six superknowledges. This has five points: the basis, the characteristic of the basis, the distinction, the boundary, the necessity. First, the basis is: the first five superknowledges are cultivated by relying on any of the pure entities of the four dhyanas, and the sixth is cultivated by relying on the fourth dhyana that has reached the ultimate perfection. That is to say, according to the system of the Compendium, all that can serve as a basis for special qualities from the entities of the eight samadhi-forms are considered to be the ultimate dhyana and the formless. From the Treasury: "Exhaustion of defilements, superknowledge, like power." It means that, like the power of the exhaustion of defilements, the superknowledge of the exhaustion of defilements is said to be in all grounds, which is the view of the Vaibhashikas, so there is no harm. Therefore, in the Ornament of the Sutras, it says: "Having obtained the extremely pure fourth dhyana, completely grasping non-conceptual wisdom, how to attend to the arrangement of phenomena, one will obtain the supreme accomplishment of miraculous power." It means that the basis is the fourth dhyana and is endowed with the non-conceptual wisdom of abiding. If one attends to the dharma of how to arrange, one will accomplish miraculous power.

Thus it is said. So, what are the aspects or mental activities for accomplishing clairvoyance? The first aspect is lightness of body, the second is pervasiveness of sound, and the third is that one's own body appears as such, and the mind also appears as such, from which it is inferred that other beings also have such a body and should also have such a mind. The fourth is to mentally engage with the characteristics of the moment when consciousness has just ceased, from the reverse order until connecting the two. The fifth is that all directions appear to be filled, and the sixth is to mentally engage with the fact that all phenomena are without self. So, what is the principle of the dependent and the dependence? This is not like a city foundation relying on a tall tree, or a sprout growing from a seed relying on the seed. So what is it? The reliance that is spoken of refers to the name given to reliance on where and in what nature it arises. This principle should be understood as the basis for all minds on the path, which is a unique term of the Abhidharma school. Secondly, the characteristic of the dependent is that the earth shakes, one becomes many, many become one, and so on, and the samadhi and wisdom arising from meditation that show these as they are, is clairvoyance, that is, the clairvoyance of magical powers. And the samadhi and wisdom arising from meditation that can hear all the subtle and great sounds that exist in all realms of the world, is the clairvoyance of the divine ear. And the samadhi and wisdom arising from meditation that knows the minds of other sentient beings, whether they have desire or are free from desire, is the clairvoyance of knowing the minds of others. And the samadhi and wisdom arising from meditation that can remember countless lifetimes of oneself and others, is the clairvoyance of remembering past lives. And the samadhi and wisdom arising from meditation that can see the death and birth of all sentient beings in the ten directions, and their श्रेष्ठ (Sanskrit, śreṣṭha, श्रेष्ठ, excellent) inferior and middling forms, is the clairvoyance of the divine eye. And the samadhi and wisdom arising from meditation that abandons or is abandoning the seeds of afflictions such as attachment, and ज्ञानवरण (Sanskrit, jñānāvaraṇa, ज्ञानावरण, knowledge obscuration) etc. that conceptualize the grasper and the grasped, is the clairvoyance of the exhaustion of outflows. Regarding the divine ear, the sutra says "beyond human," which means accomplished by meditation.
