The benefits of decomposition, and the last two are said to be the purity of the essence of the first two formless realms. Second, the classification is the all-pervading: earth, water, fire, wind, blue, yellow, red, white, space, and consciousness, a total of ten. Among them, the object of the all-pervading wind is both the sense base of form and the sense base of touch. The object of the other seven all-pervading forms is the sense base of form, as stated in the Treasury of Knowledge and its commentary. The object of the last two is the four name aggregates of their own realm, as stated in the root text and commentary of the Treasury of Knowledge. Third, the basis. As stated in the Treasury of Knowledge: the first eight rely on the fourth dhyana, and the last two rely on the first two formless realms. Thus, the upper Abhidharma must also hold this view. However, the Sunlight Commentary states that it relies on all four dhyanas. Fourth, there are two methods of cultivation: the method of achieving what has been cultivated before, and the method of cultivating what has not been cultivated. The first is: having been accustomed to it before, just seeing the respective objects slightly will make the samadhi of each of them clear. For example, seeing water in rivers and so on, similarly, seeing fire burning in the forest, smoke billowing, light moved by the wind, and the leaves of vines, etc., just seeing "this wind is flowing everywhere here," and laying out blue flowers, jewels, clothes, etc., and those that have become yellow, red, and white, looking up at the starry sky at night, seeing the silvery moon, etc., seeing the spots of light produced by moonlight and sunlight shining on the ground from inside a star hole or through the leaves of a tree, just seeing the star hole and the holes in the wall will give rise to the samadhi of all-pervading water, etc. Second, there are two methods of cultivating what has not been cultivated before: taking the object as a support, and the method of focusing on it. First, taking the object as a support is: filling a bowl or any container with clean water without color differences such as blue, falling from the sky, or water dripping from a filter, and cutting oily and essential wood into pieces and piling them next to a tree or in a guest room, etc., in short, piling them in a suitable place, surrounded by a wall, making a hole about a span high and four fingers wide in the wall, covering it with your hand, and placing it underneath

I, make it with smoke on top and burning in the middle. In any direction where the wind can reach, if there are skylights or holes in the wall, do it that way. Stretch the blue cloth like the surface of a large drum. With lapis lazuli and blue sandalwood, as well as blue eye medicine and any other color, create movable and immovable mandalas, and use different colors to distinguish the edges of the mandala. The same applies to yellow, red, and white colors. Light a butter lamp inside a bottle, seal the opening, and create a small hole so that the light projects a lasting mandala pattern on the wall. On a wall covered with cloth or felt, create a hole about four finger-widths wide, making it a visible object. These are the supports for meditation on exhausting substances such as water. Second, how to focus the mind on it: On a comfortable cushion, sit in a way that is in harmony with the object of meditation, focus on the names of the ten substances such as "earth, earth, water, water," and practice repeatedly. Fifth, regarding signs: there are two types, the signs of non-achievement and the way the signs of achievement appear. The first is, water mixed with foam, appearing as flowing water; fire that is intermittent, with flickering flames, and only a small amount of flame remaining on charcoal and ashes; milk that, when boiled, appears like the steam that fills the air when the lid is first lifted; like flowers without pistils and stems, which is like the combination of different parts such as pistils, stems, and petals. The same applies to the three colors such as yellow. A mandala of light appears on the ground or wall, and only certain objects are clearly visible; holes appear in the wall, etc., but cannot be enlarged even through imagination. These are the signs of non-achievement of the nine substances such as water. These phenomena may occur in people who have practiced before or have not practiced. However, the "Sutra of Sunlight" says that for those who are already accustomed, this is not a fault. The second is the sign of achievement: like a jewel-like wind banner floating in the sky, and like a mirror mandala of the nature of a jewel, it appears as an immovable state; like a round red lava floating in the sky; and a golden wind banner.
