The signs of forbearance are: pacifying fires in towns, etc., by uttering prayers with truthful words, and liberating sentient beings possessed by other non-humans. These two are signs of pacifying harm from sentient and non-sentient beings, which are two signs in terms of empowerment. In this case, there are those who are irreversible and the fire is extinguished, those who are not irreversible and the fire is not extinguished, those who are irreversible but the fire is not completely extinguished because they experience the remainder of the karma of abandoning the Dharma, and those who are not irreversible but the fire is extinguished by the power of demons, and thus arrogance arises. There are these four possibilities, and the latter is the same as this. The four signs of the awakened state are: relying on internal and external spiritual friends who subdue demons and negative influences, studying the Prajnaparamita in all ways because one desires to perfect merit, having no attachment to all pure dharmas because one sees them as solitary, and practicing the Prajnaparamita in a way that does not indulge in forms, etc., thereby attaining the enlightenment and wisdom of the Buddha. These four are signs in terms of the cause of studying the path, the object of study, the way of studying, and the benefit of studying. The second, the peak of the peak, is explained by illustrating the way in which merit increases. That is, eight kinds of merit that are primarily external, and eight kinds of merit that are primarily internal. Rather than making offerings to Buddhas equal to the number of sentient beings in the trichiliocosm and dedicating the roots of virtue, the merit of contemplating the meaning of the Mother Prajnaparamita and teaching it to others increases; constantly contemplating the Prajnaparamita day and night without separation; obtaining the patience that does not fear dharmas free from elaboration; realizing that the cause and effect of enlightenment are unattainable; rather than sentient beings of Jambudvipa obtaining the ten virtues, meditative absorption, and immeasurable qualities, practicing the meaning of the Mother Prajnaparamita is superior; going to all the realms of the gods for the benefit of the gods and others, and coming to protect the gods; subduing all demons by not separating from the mental activity of omniscience; teaching the Bodhisattva to others, and respecting them as Buddhas, these eight are primarily external. Even if one enters into meditative absorption on form, one will not be born due to it, as well as Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas.

Due to destroying the lineage (of afflictions), it becomes a distinguished Buddha lineage, and the causes for attaining Buddhahood—such as the power of generating bodhicitta—become superior. These two are the powers of the two lineages becoming superior. Alternatively, it is through those with lineage and lineage. Pacifying the mind that is contrary to the six perfections, and having no attachment to form up to omniscient wisdom. Knowing that all perfections are gathered in the Mother (Prajnaparamita), and studying it, obtaining all the complete trainings, and being close to perfect enlightenment by being free from views such as grasping, these eight are the ones that become primarily internal. The third is the peak of forbearance: it is taught by representing the way in which the realization increased by the peak becomes independent and stable. This has two aspects: the stability of self-benefit realization and the stability of benefiting others with compassion. The first is: in the context of the three omniscient ones, from the Dharma spoken—from the generation of bodhicitta up to the path of seeing that is free from the two extremes—one obtains stable realization of whatever is appropriate among the thirty. The second is: at that time, in order not to fall into self-benefit quiescence, one manifests great compassion through the power of skillful means and does not completely abandon sentient beings. The fourth is the peak of the supreme Dharma: it is taught by representing the mind that is constantly abiding, unwavering from the realization stabilized by definite stability. That is: One who has entered the irreversible supreme enlightenment rejoices greatly in the generation of bodhicitta. Measuring the three thousand great thousand worlds of Mount Meru with a scale is measurable, but the merit of rejoicing is not like that. It is said that measuring the earth of the three thousand worlds, such as the four continents, with a scale, and taking a drop of water with the tip of a hair as an example, its quantity is measurable. The accumulation of merit and wisdom from rejoicing with single-minded samadhi in the roots of virtue of the four Bodhisattvas practicing the six perfections cannot be measured. The four Bodhisattvas are: those who have initially entered the Great Vehicle, those who have entered the practice, those who are irreversible, and the four Bodhisattvas who are in their last life. These four also abide in the realization of the path of seeing and the path of meditation that are the antidotes to the four conceptualizations, as well as the four application paths, and the impure seven grounds and the pure ten grounds.
