Regarding learning the causes of non-regression, there are two points: one is to abandon the four black dharmas that cause regression, and the other is to learn to adopt the four white dharmas that prevent regression. Third, regarding the way of learning from generating Bodhicitta to practice, there are three points: first, explaining the reasons why one must learn from the beginning of generating Bodhicitta; second, elucidating that one cannot attain Buddhahood by learning only one of skillful means or wisdom; and third, elucidating the order of learning. This is further divided into two points: first, the order of learning the Mahayana in general, and second, the order of learning the Vajrayana in particular. The first point is further divided into three points: first, cultivating the desire to learn the Bodhisattva's precepts (Bodhisattva vows) in advance; second, taking the Bodhisattva vows after cultivation; and third, how to learn after taking the vows. This is further divided into three points: first, what is the basis of learning; second, how the contents of learning are gathered; and third, how to learn in order. The second point is further divided into two points: first, clarifying the definite number of actual contents; and second, incidentally explaining the determination of the order. The first point is further divided into six points: first, the definite number depending on higher rebirth; second, the definite number depending on accomplishing the two benefits; third, the definite number depending on perfectly accomplishing all benefit for others; fourth, the definite number depending on gathering all Mahayana; fifth, the definite number depending on all aspects of the path or skillful means; and sixth, the definite number depending on the three trainings (discipline, concentration, wisdom). Incidentally, explaining the determination of the order is divided into three points: first, the order of birth; second, the order of inferior and superior; and third, the order of coarse and subtle. Third, regarding how to learn in order, it is divided into two points: first, the way of learning common conduct; and second, the way of learning the last two Paramitas (wisdom, skillful means) in particular. The first point is further divided into two points: first, learning the Paramitas that ripen one's own Buddha-dharma; and second, learning the four means of gathering that ripen the minds of others. The first point is further divided into six points: first, learning generosity; second, learning discipline; third, learning patience; fourth, learning diligence; fifth, learning concentration; and sixth, learning the way of wisdom. The first point is further divided into four points: first, the nature of generosity; second, the method of entering into generosity; third, the classification of generosity; and fourth, summarizing these contents. Third, the classification of generosity is divided into three points: first, how to treat all recipients (objects of generosity); second, the classification depending on different recipients; and third, the classification of the nature of generosity itself. The first point is divided into two points: first, to achieve the six perfections; and second, to achieve the six Paramitas. The first point is divided into six points: first, the perfection of the recipient; second, the perfection of the object; third, the perfection of the purpose; fourth, the perfection of the method; fifth, the perfection of the dedication; and sixth, the perfection of purity. Third, the classification of the nature of generosity itself is divided into three points: first, the Dharma-giving; second, the fearlessness-giving; and third, the material-giving. This is further divided into two points: first, the giving of actually giving material things; and second, the giving of mere intention. The first point is divided into three points: first, material things --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The way of giving: If one cannot give, what should be done? Relying on the antidote to the obstacles of giving. First, there are four points: the field to whom one gives, the intention with which one gives, the action of how one gives, and the object one gives. Intention is divided into two: What kind of intention is needed? What kind of intention needs to be abandoned? Here are seven: not having the intention of holding wrong views as supreme, not having an arrogant intention, not having a dependent intention, not having a discouraged intention, not having a back-turning intention, not having an intention of looking for a return, not having an intention of looking for fruition. The action of how to give is divided into two: With what kind of action does one not give? With what kind of action does one give? The first is divided into two: briefly stating the objects of giving and not giving, and explaining in detail. Here it is divided into two: explaining in detail the giving and not giving of internal objects, and the giving and not giving of external objects. The first is divided into three: what cannot be given from the perspective of time, what cannot be given from the perspective of need, and what cannot be given from the perspective of the beggar. Explaining in detail the giving and not giving of external objects is divided into two: the way of not giving external objects, and the way of giving. The first is divided into five: what cannot be given from the perspective of time, what cannot be given from the perspective of place, what cannot be given from the perspective of support, what cannot be given from the perspective of object, and what cannot be given from the perspective of need. The method of counteracting the obstacles of giving is divided into four: miserliness, decline, attachment, and not seeing the result. Second, the perfection of discipline is divided into five: the nature of discipline, the method of entering into cultivating it, the classification of discipline, what to do when practicing these, and the meaning of these. The classification of discipline is divided into three: the discipline of vows, the discipline of gathering virtuous dharmas, and the discipline of benefiting sentient beings. The perfection of patience is divided into five: the nature of patience, the method of entering into cultivating it, the classification of patience, what to do when practicing these, and the meaning of these. The classification of patience is divided into three: not minding harm, accepting suffering, and patience with firm conviction in the Dharma. The first is divided into two: refuting the inability to endure the harm done by the harmer, and purifying the mind that is displeased with the prosperity of the harmer and pleased with the decline. The first is divided into two: refuting the inability to endure the obstruction of creating happiness and the creation of suffering, and the inability to endure the obstruction of creating respect and the three actions of insult, etc. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
