Then, cultivate the thought that everything is bliss-emptiness inseparable, and thus act in both meditative and post-meditative states. Again, engage in the visualization of Tummo and the practice of wind control, alternating to generate the four joys. Relying on External Karma Mudra: Second, relying on external karma mudra for practice, unless it is based on the tantras and fundamental texts of the great accomplished ones, practicing it by others will open the door to lower realms, so it is temporarily put aside. How to Meditate on Illusion and Clear Light Based on It: Second, there are two ways to meditate on illusion and clear light based on it. The first is the general framework for meditating on the subsequent stages of the path based on Tummo: General Framework for Meditating on the Subsequent Stages of the Path Based on Tummo: As Marpa said: 'Listen to the Father Tantra Guhyasamaja, obtain the instructions on illusory body and clear light.' Therefore, the practices of illusory body and clear light rely on Guhyasamaja. Moreover, according to the view of the noble Nagarjuna and his sons, in the Condensed Five Stages of Guhyasamaja, it is said that due to the winds dissolving into the central channel, the three empties of appearance, increase, and attainment arise, and the illusory body is accomplished solely through wind and mind. Therefore, it seems that this oral instruction should also be understood based on the Guhyasamaja. The way in which five or eight signs appear before the defining illusory body has been briefly explained before, and will be explained in detail below. The definition of the defining illusory body is as stated in the Five Stages: 'When the wind and bindu are perfectly united, the three consciousnesses again, transform into the body of a yogi, which is called the illusory body.' Thus it is said. Therefore, after the four signs of the dissolution of the four elements have occurred, the three consciousnesses, which are gathered into the clear light near-attainment, together with the co-emergent cause of the final clear light, and relying on the near-obtaining cause of the life-sustaining wind that rides on it, transform into the deity's body on top of the original physical body. If this is attained, then one will definitely attain enlightenment in this life, gain mastery over the treasury of space, and possess qualities such as a body size of one hundred yojanas. As the Five Stages say: 'I obtain the blessings in succession, becoming the lord of all Buddhas. In this very life, enlightenment, will be attained without doubt.' And: 'Dwelling, clothing, and food, etc., are obtained in an instant in space.' And as the Guhyasamaja Root Tantra says: 'Within a range of one hundred yojanas, the light of the vajra flame, with all the ornaments' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the commentary 'Lamp Illuminating [the Meaning]' on [Asanga's] 'Ornament [for Clear Realization],' it says: 'Vast as a hundred yojanas (Sanskrit: Yojana, a unit of measurement), countless world systems, blazing Vajra, illuminating with its own light, and adorned with the thirty-two marks (Sanskrit: Lakshana, the 32 major marks of a Buddha's body) and so forth.' Even without having obtained the nature of the illusory body (Sanskrit: Mayakaya), one can rely on the practice of tummo (Sanskrit: Tumo, a type of yogic practice) and so forth, causing the winds to dissolve into the central channel (Sanskrit: Avadhuti), generating coemergent bliss (Sanskrit: Sahajananda), and at the end of the example luminosity (Sanskrit: Upaama-aloka) where all is empty, directing one's intention, through the power of the winds, to arise as the form of a deity; this is the example illusory body. And its cause, luminosity, is the example luminosity. Based on this, the method of blending the three bodies—Dharmakaya (Sanskrit: Dharmakaya), Sambhogakaya (Sanskrit: Sambhogakaya), and Nirmanakaya (Sanskrit: Nirmanakaya)—is as follows: In the 'Five Stages,' it says: 'Conventional truth is illusion itself; the Enjoyment Body is also that; that itself becomes a Gandharva (Sanskrit: Gandharva, a type of celestial being) sentient being.' From this, one can infer: 'Ultimate truth is luminosity itself; the Dharma Body is also that; that itself becomes the nature of death.' And 'With a subtle body, entering various bodies, is the Emanation Body; that itself becomes the nature of birth.' These two can also represent [the three bodies]. And the meaning of these is clarified in the 'Condensed Light of the Five Stages': 'Blend the three bardos (Sanskrit: Antarabhava).' Therefore, it can also represent 'Blend the three deaths' and 'Blend the three births.' Among these, the three deaths are: Meditating on luminosity in the sequence of the four emptinesses while awake is the death of the path; meditating on luminosity in the sequence of the four emptinesses while asleep is the death of sleep; meditating on luminosity in the sequence of the four emptinesses at the time of death is the death at the time of death. The three bardos are: At the end of the four emptinesses while awake, arising as the form of a deity through the power of the winds is the illusory Enjoyment Body, the bardo of the path while awake; at the end of the four emptinesses while asleep, the illusory Enjoyment Body arising as the form of a deity in a dream is the bardo of dreams; at the end of the four emptinesses at the time of death, the illusory Enjoyment Body arising as the form of a deity in the bardo is the bardo of existence. The three births are: While awake, rising from the deity form controlled by the power of the winds, visualizing it as a body of maturation, and entering the heart is the Emanation Body, the birth of the path while awake; in a dream, rising from the deity form controlled by the power of the winds, visualizing it as a body of maturation, and entering the heart is the birth of the dream while awake; in the bardo, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
