There is no need to hold onto dreams in a specific way. If you hold onto dreams through the power of intention, it is like holding onto them with something powerless. Therefore, regard the dream as your personal deity, practice Guru Yoga, and make offerings. Pray to have more, clearer, and better dreams, to remember the dreams, and after remembering them, for the virtuous deeds in the dreams to arise in your mindstream, pacifying obstacles and fulfilling conducive conditions. Offer tormas to the yidam and protectors, entrust them with activities, and keep your commitments strictly. Then, during the day, hold onto awareness with continuous mindfulness, thinking, 'These appearances that are appearing now are like dream appearances.' And repeatedly train the strong intention: 'Now, in the dream, I must recognize that it is a dream.' Furthermore, whenever a dream occurs, no matter what, recognize that it is a dream and practice virtuous deeds in the dream. Train this strong aspiration frequently. Especially, practice it regularly before going to bed. At night, hold onto it with forceful instructions: Before going to sleep, visualize yourself as your personal deity, visualize the guru on your crown, and pray a lot. At your throat, visualize a four-petaled red lotus, and in the wisdom channel at your navel, visualize a red Om (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:Om), whose essence is speech vajra. Focus your awareness on this, without letting it scatter elsewhere, and go to sleep while maintaining this focus. Even if you don't remember the dream, continue to practice as before. If you still can't remember the dream even after doing this, then from dawn until sunrise, because sleep is light, it is easy to hold onto dreams, so practice Guru Yoga and pray, and train your intention and actions as before. At the eyebrow center of your clearly visualized personal deity, focus on a shining white drop the size of a lentil, do seven vase breaths, and then go to sleep. If doing this causes sleep to be too light and you can't fall asleep, or even if you fall asleep, you wake up easily and can't remember the dream, then do the daytime intention training etc. as before. Before going to bed, focus your mind on a black drop in the center of a vajra jewel, practice twenty-one union breaths, and fall asleep while keeping your mind unscattered. Next is 'Training and Exchanging': Second, training and exchanging, including training in mundane liberations, learning various transformations and changes, such as creating things that have never existed before, transforming existing things into other forms, and cultivating the ability to ride on the rays of the sun and moon and visit places like the Thirty-Three Heavens. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I practice skills such as going there and flying in the sky. Practicing liberation beyond the world is to visualize the pure Buddha lands such as Sukhavati (Sanskrit: Sukhavati, the pure land of Amitabha), Abhirati (Sanskrit: Abhirati, the pure land of Akshobhya), and Akaniṣṭha (Sanskrit: Akaniṣṭha, the highest heaven), and to see the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas residing there, make offerings to them, listen to the Dharma, and so on, and then strive to accomplish these. Development and transformation refers to transforming sentient beings such as humans and animals, as well as inanimate objects such as pillars and vases, into one or two, or from two, four, etc., into one hundred or even one thousand. Third, abandoning fear and practicing illusion. Abandoning fear means that if you encounter fearful or frightening things such as fire and water in a dream, you must recognize that it is a dream in the dream, thinking, 'How can the fire and water in the dream harm me?' Then trample on them, jump over them, and so on. The method of practicing illusion is: Learn from the example of appearing as fire in a dream, but not actually existing, and realize that all things in the dream are not truly existent as they appear, and then meditate. After realizing this, practice visualizing all the outer and inner contents of the dream as the mandala of the support and the supported. And practice visualizing these manifested things as illusions that appear on the basis of emptiness of self-nature. Also practice viewing these as the nature of bliss and emptiness, and like when visualizing the appearance as an illusion, practice the three wheels without substance. Fourth, meditating on the suchness of dreams. After gaining stable control over dreams, clearly visualize yourself as the deity. From the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal meaning: seed syllable) syllable in your heart, radiate light and gather all the outer and inner contents of the dream into yourself. Then gradually gather yourself, starting from the upper and lower parts of your body, into the Hūṃ syllable in your heart. Finally, dissolve the Hūṃ syllable into the invisible clear light and keep your mind unwavering. Third, practicing the illusory body of the bardo, divided into two parts, the first being the distinction of the individuals who hold the bardo: There are three types of individuals who hold the bardo: superior, middling, and inferior. The superior individual, as stated in the Compendium of Practice, can achieve the third-level illusory body equivalent to the bardo at the end of life. The middling individual, as stated in the Compendium of Practice: 'After combining in this way, one falls asleep, and at the moment when mind, mental factors, and ignorance are integrated, mindfulness arises.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
