In the central channel (rtsa dbu ma) within the sixteen-petaled navel wheel (nā pa loṅs spyod kyi 'khor lo, Wheel of Enjoyment), from the center of the throat to the dhūti (དྷཱུ་ཏཱི) channel near the inner spine, visualize a red ཨོཾ་ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Literal Meaning: Om) syllable on a moon disc, facing upwards, the size of a mustard seed. In the central channel within the thirty-two-petaled crown wheel (spyi bo bde chen gyi 'khor lo, Great Bliss Wheel), visualize a white ཧཾ་ (Tibetan: ཧཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं, Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ, Literal Meaning: Hung) syllable on a moon disc, facing downwards, the size of a mustard seed. Each syllable is topped with a crescent moon, a bindu (bindu), and a nāda (ནཱ་ད་). Visualize the bodhicitta (byaṅ chub kyi sems) as dripping melted butter, which brings great bliss. Visualizing these syllables with intense light makes it easier to cut through dullness and greatly enhances the clarity of meditation. When visualizing these syllables, do not look from yourself outwards, but rather let your mind blend into the syllables. Keep your mind focused, neither too tense nor too relaxed, to avoid agitation and dullness. Maintain a slightly firm focus. For the three syllables below the heart wheel (snying ga), initially focus for a short time, mostly focusing on the ཨ་ (Tibetan: ཨ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Meaning: A) syllable at the navel wheel. If it seems difficult to focus on a subtle object, slightly enlarge the object of visualization, and once it is stable, focus on the subtle object. **How to Meditate on Vase Breathing (rLung bum pa can)** Regarding the method of meditating on vase breathing (rLung bum pa can), the guru's instructions say: 'Inhaling, filling, holding, and shooting like an arrow, there are four aspects.' When inhaling, do not inhale through the mouth, but inhale forcefully and deeply through the nostrils. Once inhaled, do not exhale immediately, but hold the breath, allowing the air to hiss through the two ro rkyaṅ (རོ་རྐྱང་) channels, feeling them swell up like intestines filled with air. When the two channels are full, visualize all the air from the two channels rushing into the central channel. Then, silently swallow saliva and press the upward-moving air at the location of the ཨ་ (Tibetan: ཨ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Meaning: A) syllable. Next, gently draw the downward-moving air from the two lower orifices to the location of the ཨ་ (Tibetan: ཨ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Meaning: A) syllable. Focus on the ཨ་ (Tibetan: ཨ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Meaning: A) syllable where the two airs meet, and hold the breath as long as you can endure. When you cannot endure it any longer, do not force it, but exhale. When exhaling, visualize the air moving upwards in the central channel, not exiting from the crown of the head. Do not focus on areas such as the throat or heart wheel. When the air naturally settles at the center of the chakras, you can gradually increase the duration of the breath-holding. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
