'Not seeing the phenomena, seeing the nature of phenomena.' Ultimately, even the names of samsara and nirvana are not established. However, conventionally, all the distinctions of samsara and nirvana, such as sentient beings attaining Buddhahood, exist. These are merely designations by names and words. The interdependence that appears as real and emptiness, which is without inherent existence, abide as one essence, i.e., appearance and emptiness are non-dual. It is said that one does not abandon the other, which seems to be a unique characteristic of the previous lamas of this tradition. Therefore, the view of this tradition, as it appears in the Madhyamaka treatises, does not need to be explained by drawing from the categories of the two truths. One should not cling to this. If one speaks in this way, it contradicts the general meaning of the scriptures and commentaries, and it also contradicts one's own tradition. Therefore, one should seek the previously explained view of emptiness, desiring to combine bliss and emptiness as inseparable. Secondly, regarding the actual state of the physical body: the center where the navel chakra (Nirmanakaya chakra) and other chakras are located, as well as the upper and lower ends of the central channel (Avadhuti), are crucial points on the body, places where profound methods of practice are applied. Moreover, according to the oral instructions of the Marpa tradition, during the two periods of sleep and wakefulness, when cultivating virtue during the former, one needs to know the crucial points of the heart and throat; when practicing Tummo during the latter, one needs to know the navel chakra; and when engaging in Karma Mudra and Samadhi, one needs to know the crown chakra. They believe that at these times, the bindu (essence) upon which the mind relies abides in these four locations. This is quite similar to the Kalachakra view, which states that the bindu that generates the state of wakefulness is at the forehead and navel, the state of dreaming is at the throat and secret place, the state of deep sleep is at the heart and jewel, and the fourth state is at the tip of the navel and secret place. When falling asleep, the winds gather intensely at the heart and jewel. When the winds are thick, one enters dreamless deep sleep. Then, when the winds slightly thin out from these two locations and come to the throat and secret place, dreams appear, and dreams arise during the period when the winds gather there. Then, the winds leave these two locations and go to the forehead and navel, thereby awakening. When the Bodhicitta descending from the crown reaches the tip of the navel and jewel, it transforms into a bliss that is higher than its previous state. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Each significant experience occurs in the fourth stage. When it is awakened by the power of the wind, the innate beginning of ascending and descending starts from the navel chakra, and its complete characteristics manifest at the crown of the jewel. Therefore, although cultivating the yoga of sleep and dreams in the four stages is very important, it is not meaningless to maintain awake awareness in those stages. Among all the chakras, the first to focus on is the Emanation Chakra. By focusing on each chakra to cultivate, how each produces its unique imprint, and other things that need to be understood, should be recognized. **The Order of Traversing the Path** Second, the order of traversing the path is divided into two parts: first, practicing the illusory wheel and emptiness, and then practicing the actual path. **The Order of First Practicing the Illusory Wheel and Emptiness** First, in the other instructions of the Marpa lineage, merit is accumulated by relying on the three stages of the arising, abiding, and dissolving of the wind, as well as the protection of the Kīla (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: seed syllable), the protection of the Minor Wrathful One, and Guru Yoga. Although there is no practice of the illusory wheel and emptiness, in the lineage from Jetsun Milarepa to Gampopa, the tradition where the former is missing and the latter exists is explained here in two ways. The Dingpo Illusory Wheel includes taking refuge, generating Bodhicitta, and visualizing the Guru on the crown of the head and supplicating, which must be integrated with the lineage. Then, visualize oneself as the Yidam's Father-Mother. At the beginning of each session, do these first. Then, although there are many differences in the amount and methods of practicing the illusory wheel, here, according to the supplement to the 'Methods and Paths in Verse' composed by Phagmo Drupa, the physical exercises include: filling like a vase, rotating like a wheel, bending like a hook, throwing the Vajra-embracing mudra upwards and casting it downwards, straightening like an arrow in the manner of a vomiting dog, shaking the head and body to keep the channels and blood in place, and stretching the joints. There are six in total. It is said that these are the Six Dharmas of Nāropa. Doing it like this includes: filling like a vase, which means sitting comfortably on a cushion, sitting cross-legged in any comfortable posture, straightening the legs, placing the hands on the knees. Inhale through the right nostril, look to the left, and then slowly and for a long time exhale all the air from the nostril on that side. Again, inhale from the left nostril, look to the right, and then exhale from the nostril on that side as before. Then, from the middle, inhale from both nostrils. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
