The error of other behaviors lies in their being distorted by other things. As for behaviors like those of dogs and pigs, if they are performed during the time of empowerment (Tibetan: དབང་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अभिषेक, Sanskrit Romanization: abhiṣeka, Chinese literal meaning: empowerment), but not at other times, they will incur the punishment of the Ḍākinīs (Tibetan: ཌཱ་ཀི, Sanskrit Devanagari: डाकिनी, Sanskrit Romanization: ḍākinī, Chinese literal meaning: Ḍākinī), and are therefore erroneous. If behaviors are performed without error, then self-appearance will arise as Dharmatā (Tibetan: ཆོས་ཉིད, Sanskrit Devanagari: धर्मता, Sanskrit Romanization: dharmatā, Chinese literal meaning: Dharmatā), able to transform the disbelief of others, able to reveal secrets, able to accomplish any magical power, and able to control appearances and elements. If the above behaviors are erroneous, then one should know the errors of the behaviors, and no results will arise. Vajrapāṇi (Tibetan: ལས་ཀྱི་རྡོ་རྗེ, Sanskrit Devanagari: कर्मवज्र, Sanskrit Romanization: karmavajra, Chinese literal meaning: Karma Vajra) and Matibhadrashrī (Tibetan: མ་ཏི་བྷ་དྲ་ཤྲཱི, Sanskrit Devanagari: मतिभद्रश्री, Sanskrit Romanization: matibhadrashrī, Chinese literal meaning: Auspicious Intelligence), make your behaviors consistent with the general principles of Dharma. Second, the error of general Dharma behavior is that if temporary behavior, though cautious, is not in accordance with the Dharma, then one cannot enter the path to Buddhahood, which is called pretense, and is an error of behavior. Vajrapāṇi, in general, if you want to avoid error in behavior, then whatever behavior you do, make it a way to Buddhahood. The fourth topic is the error of results, which is twofold: temporary and ultimate. First, the temporary error is that if one takes the common results of practicing profound teachings as supreme, and thereby generates arrogance and conceit, then one obstructs the realization of the ultimate result. Even if one obtains results, if hope and fear are not extinguished, then the results become a source of error. Vajrapāṇi and Matibhadrashrī, know that hope and fear have no basis. Vajrapāṇi further asked: If one realizes the key point of direct awareness, is it necessary to generate Bodhicitta (Tibetan: སེམས་བསྐྱེད, Sanskrit Devanagari: बोधिचित्त, Sanskrit Romanization: bodhicitta, Chinese literal meaning: Bodhicitta)? The Lord of Secrets replied: Although the Great Vehicle of Secret Mantra is distinguished by Bodhicitta, if one does not constantly remember death and impermanence, and the faults of cause and effect in Saṃsāra, then this life will be wasted. If one does not constantly cultivate love and compassion for all sentient beings, then even if one verbally claims to be Mahāyāna, one has already fallen into the path of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas. If one cannot take and abandon even the smallest causes and effects in an instant, then even if one's realization is high, various non-virtues will arise. Vajrapāṇi, if you want to be a true practitioner, then realization must be connected with the above factors. Vajrapāṇi further asked: What is the greatest obstacle to practicing the path? The Lord of Secrets replied: First, at the time of entering the path, any factor that leads to a distorted understanding of wisdom is an obstacle. In particular, for men, women are the greatest demons; for women, men are the greatest demons; and in general, food and clothing are the greatest demons. Again asked: Nowadays, most secret mantra practitioners do not use mudras (Tibetan: ཕྱག་རྒྱ, Sanskrit Devanagari: मुद्रा, Sanskrit Romanization: mudrā, Chinese literal meaning: seal)... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Someone asked: 'What is the so-called excellent reliance?' Vajrapani (金刚手) replied: 'The mudra (phyag rgya, 手印) that enhances the path is rarer than gold. A bad woman flatters male servants, flatters those pleasing to pure visions (dag snang, शुद्ध दृष्टि), offers to male servants to accumulate merit, and becomes disgusted with the Dharma. When listening, she is worse than a dog; faith is born from the mouth, and when turning away, she turns away from the depths of her heart. She is stingy and jealous, and instead of accumulating upward-going actions, she makes hooks to pull downwards. She cannot enhance the Dharma, but instead invites attachment, hatred, and suffering. Hoping to be liberated through attachment, she becomes a cause for increasing afflictions. Hoping to become a support for increasing elements (khams, धातु), she instead brings a bundle of decline. A promiscuous woman who does not keep her vows is a demoness.' Someone asked: 'What kind of reliance is appropriate?' Vajrapani replied: 'One that is the opposite of the above faults. Especially one who has faith in the Dharma, is broad-minded, patient, has faith and great compassion, possesses the six perfections (ṣaṭpāramitā) in their being, does not disobey the guru's instructions, respects practitioners, protects the vows of mantra like the eyes, does not indulge in promiscuity except during empowerment, and abides in cleanliness. If one can do these things, one can become a companion on the path. But such people are very rare. Even such a person is for guiding desire and is the Dharma fortune of those with superior faculties. For ordinary people, afflictions arise freely, so one must avoid these. Having entered the door of mantra, if one does not keep the vows, do not expect to become a Buddha.' Karma-vajra (业金刚) asked again: 'For practitioners, how should one deal with the attachment to food, clothing, and the body? Please teach me a key instruction on abandoning these three.' Vajrapani replied: 'Karma-vajra, this body will eventually perish, and life is already destined. There is no certainty for old or young. Everything cannot escape death. Even if one has a beautiful appearance, I have never seen someone who has not died because of attachment to beauty. Abandon all attachment to the body and go to a solitary place. Clothes can be ragged, and food can be stones and water. The reason people cannot practice the Dharma is that they do not do this. Now, if one generates bodhicitta (བྱམས་སྙིང་རྗེ་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཀྱི་སེམས་) with love and compassion and performs virtuous deeds, the power will be very strong, but such people are also very rare. These secret words of mine are the heart speech of the dakinis (mkha' 'gro, डाकिनी). I, Vajradhara (རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན་པ་), these secret words of mine are blessed by the outer goddess Saraswati (དབྱངས་ཅན་མ།), the inner wisdom goddess, the secret sovereign Guhyeshvari (གསང་བའི་དབང་ཕྱུག་མ།), Matibhadrashri.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
