Fifth, the error of conformity is that all those who hold temporary views fall into the views of their own sectarian system, thus distinguishing between reliance and non-reliance, self and other, high and low, partiality and impartiality, good and bad, and measuring the Buddha's boundless views with their own narrow perceptions, which is the root of the error. Vajrapani and Mati Bhadra Shri! If you do not wish to fall into these errors, you should understand the boundless and vast view. Second, there are four kinds of errors in practice: the error of the essence of practice, the error of place, the error of companions, the error of faults, and the error of afflictions. First, the error of the essence of practice is that although the guru nakedly reveals the three: essence, nature, and compassion, the disciple does not understand, does not comprehend the three: essence, nature, and compassion, and does not understand the inseparability of clarity and emptiness, thus falling into error. If you practice according to the guru's instructions, clinging to the temporary happiness of body and mind, you will fall into the realm of desire. If you simply remain in a state of non-thought, you will fall into the Pure Abode. If you cling only to clarity without thought, you will fall into the Realm of Form. If you cling to happiness without thought, you will fall into the Realm of Desire. If you cling to emptiness without thought, you will fall into the Realm of Formlessness. These are all manifestations of falling into the Three Realms. If the objects of the senses continuously cease, you will fall into the Sphere of Infinite Space. If you fall into a deep sleep and completely lose consciousness, you will fall into the Sphere of Nothingness. If the clarity of awareness ceases, you will fall into the Sphere of Infinite Consciousness. If there is only a radiance of happiness in the clarity, and nothing appears in the appearance, continuously arising, you will fall into the Sphere of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception. These are called falling into one side of calm abiding, and after dying from here, you will wander in the Three Realms and Six Realms. Vajrapani and Mati Bhadra Shri! If you do not know how to cut off the errors of practice, then foolish practice will only lead to reincarnation, which is meaningless. Furthermore, if you regard body and mind as ordinary people do, you will fall into being an ordinary person. If you cling to one side of existence or non-existence, you will fall into the eternalism or nihilism of externalists. If you think that the object is independent of the mind, you will fall into being a Shravaka or Pratyekabuddha. If you think that appearance is the mind, you will fall into the Mind-Only school. If you think that the vessel and its contents are deities, you will fall into mantra. If you do not completely cut off the errors, what is the use of practice? 'Then, please show me a method to cut off the errors!' Vajrapani said: 'If you do not wish to fall into these errors, you should, like Mati Bhadra Shri, first expand your knowledge through hearing the Dharma.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the middle, strike the key point with the instruction of introduction. Finally, during the practice, the above mistakes are all due to attachment to meditation. For example, like a rabbit sleeping in a messy bush, or like the meditation of an archer, there is no mistake. Regarding the experience of practice, whatever arises, do not modify, expect, deny, or affirm it at the moment it arises, just let it go. If there is no attachment to what arises, one will not fall into mistakes. The master said so. Second, point out the mistakes of place and companions. A practitioner must practice in a place with characteristics such as being uninhabited and quiet. If one lives in a noisy temple or a place with many afflictions, one will make mistakes due to influences such as impurity, offerings, greed, and hatred. Associating with bad friends will interrupt the progress of practice. This is bringing suffering upon oneself. Padmasambhava, Matibhadrashri, if you want to practice pure Dharma, you must completely sever the entanglement of bad places and bad friends, which is very important. The master said so. Third, point out the mistakes of meditation. During practice, there are three types of mistakes: dullness, agitation, and scattering. Dullness is further divided into dullness caused by place, dullness caused by companions, dullness caused by time, dullness caused by food, dullness caused by posture, and dullness caused by meditation. First, dullness caused by place: living in a low forest valley or a dilapidated and dark temple can lead to dullness of consciousness, unclear bindus (藏文:ཐིག་ལེ,梵文天城体:बिन्दु,梵文罗马拟音:bindu,汉语字面意思:drop), blurred awareness, sleepiness, and heaviness of the body. To counter this, one should bathe and confess, go to a clean and high place, meditate in a bright place, blow cool wind, visualize the top of a snow mountain, and meditate naked, which can eliminate dullness. Second, dullness caused by companions: living with impure people can lead to dullness. By confessing and bathing, and staying away from those who break vows and are impure, dullness can be eliminated. Third, dullness caused by time: it is easy to become dull in spring and summer, so one should go to high places such as snowy mountains to practice, which can eliminate dullness. Fourth, dullness caused by diet: eating impure food can lead to dullness. Therefore, during practice, one should avoid eating impure food, which can eliminate dullness. Fifth, dullness caused by posture: beginners who walk, sit, or lie down casually are prone to dullness. Therefore, during practice, one should adopt three postures, or the vajra posture, concentrate, lift the spirit, and meditate vigilantly, which can eliminate dullness. Sixth, dullness caused by meditation: if one practices with a lax consciousness, one will become drowsy. This is dullness, so light a lamp. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
