Having adopted the good conduct of an ascetic, and always abiding in the vow of celibacy, may you have a leisure and endowed human life that is fruitful. Take refuge in the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha), which never deceive, and rely on them as the glorious protectors of this and future lives. Abandon sinful friends who steal away virtue, and the trivial pursuits of this life, no matter how hard you try. Black and white karma never deceive, and karma follows like a shadow. Even for the sake of your life, may you, virtuous one, never commit evil deeds. The Buddha said that generosity and morality are the supreme friends who bestow the glory of gods and humans. Rejoice in the works of offering to the field of merit—the virtuous monks and the Buddhas. The body of a woman, with a fickle mind and deceitful behavior, is not worthy of praise by the holy ones. Therefore, if you wish never to take a lower birth in the future, always pay homage with respectful mind to the son of the Victorious One, Yeshe Lama O'kyi Tok, as well as those named Monlam Lodro, Dampa Shi, and Jampelyang (Manjushri). Those friends who are sweet-talking and double-tongued rarely speak words that are helpful. Like reciting secret mantras when possessed by a demon, even if helpful words are spoken, it is difficult to be accepted. Therefore, these words of advice related to the Dharma, which I have initiated with compassion, may you, of good lineage, keep them in your heart and always be mindful of their meaning, and be cautious. This is the advice of Mani Ma, the teacher of Ngari, called 'A Drop of Nectar.' May it be auspicious! This is the advice to the noblewoman Chospal Sangmo of Yarlung, with the letter of the Bhikshuni and the offering of the crescent moon, which Geshe Yeshe Pel rejoices in here. The most important thing at the moment is: this extremely rare leisure and endowment, if distracted by the meaningless affairs of this life, accumulating sins, one will surely regret it at the time of death, which is like going to a treasure island and returning empty-handed. The body and life that sustain life are like a flowing stream, never stopping for a moment, flowing towards the ocean of death. Black and white karma is like one's own shadow, never separated, following after consciousness. The prosperity of retinue, wealth, and relatives are all the temptations of this life, like children's games. Apart from the black and white karma that one has accumulated, there is nothing that can follow you in the next life. Non-virtuous actions will throw you into the abyss of the lower realms, virtuous actions and merit will lead you to the good realms. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Connected to the glory of that going. Therefore, remember impermanence and death, and strive to abandon evil and engage in virtue. This is the instruction from the neck of Gang Bu Lei, to the Bhikshuni Chöpal Zangmo. Auspicious! Instructions to the Lady Master of Dorje Den: One known as Bule resides in the neck of the snowy mountains. To the Bhikshu known as Kumara, with pure intention, hold faith and uphold the Dharma. By this merit of offering medicine and ghee, may all sentient beings tormented by the disease of the three poisons be well nourished by the medicine of the three vehicles of nectar, and may they be established in the supreme state of the three Kayas. May you become the Dharma King of the three realms! This is the instruction to the Lady Master of Dorje Den. Auspicious! Instructions to the Great Official of Gojo, etc. Instructions to the Great Official of Gojo: Whose foot dust, the power of the three realms, and the essence of wealth that seizes and brings happiness, etc., are respectfully adorned on the crown of the head by those worthy of worship in the world. May the Teacher Samanthatā protect you! Who in the past, before the Victorious Ones, vowed to protect the teachings and the holders of the teachings, and who do not waver in their commitment to their vows, may the powerful oath-bound ones protect you! Whose body is firm in destroying enemies like elephants, and whose merits are adorned with the burden of matted hair, with fangs and claws sharpened for brandishing weapons in battle. May the king, the lion among men, be victorious! At the feet of Kunting Gusher, who is manifestly high with the glory of great merit, the Bhikshu Lodrö requests: I am very pleased to hear that you are in good health, with a good complexion, and that you have sent a letter containing advice. I take this opportunity to inform you that from our side, there is a general interest in the teachings, and in particular, there is great joy in hearing the fame of unwavering faith in the glorious Sakya lineage and in the Lord of Wisdom, the Dharma King Sakya Pandita. The ultimate happiness of beings depends on the teachings of the Buddha, and temporary happiness depends on the king and local leaders who govern the state with Dharma. Therefore, I pray that you continue to support the precious teachings, the Sangha of study and practice, and the activities of the virtuous spiritual friends, and that you continue to govern the state with Dharma as before. As evidence of reading the letter, may you have good health, long life, and in all lifetimes, may you hold the lineage of Dharma. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
