The space left after the gross aspects of thoughts have subsided is what needs to be recognized. That is not awareness, but rather the three experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-thought. Sometimes, the state of abiding is blissfully relaxed, which is the cause of the desire realm; sometimes, it is clearly lucid, which is the cause of the form realm; sometimes, it is an empty and clear state, which is the cause of being born in the formless realm; sometimes, the non-thought aspect is dull and murky, mostly the cause of animals, and cannot go beyond these, so they must be destroyed. Although there are many ways to destroy attachment to experience, Jikme Chökyi Wangpo said that one should use the weapon of fierce mantra, forcibly destroying it with the powerful sound of "Phaṭ (藏文:ཕཊ།,梵文天城体:फट्,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:断)". At that time, in the unborn realm of Dharma, unobstructed, transparent, and naked awareness is the wisdom that transcends mind and the eight consciousnesses. It is not mind. Recognizing this is called recognizing one's own nature in the present moment. Like this, becoming accustomed to or meditating on the nature of the union of awareness and emptiness, the single bindu of Dharmakaya, and not departing from it, is called abiding. When awareness is full of clarity, whatever arises from its essence appears as having the form of wisdom, which is called radiating. Like this, abiding is the nature of Dharmakaya, and radiating is called the self-essence of wisdom. The mistake is that not grasping the reality of view and abiding, remaining in any of the three experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, which are the causes of generating the three realms, is the mistake of abiding. Also, forgetting awareness and following thoughts and external objects, falling into boundless confusion, is the mistake of radiating. Like this, as mentioned above, truly practicing the view of the union of awareness and emptiness is making a decision in the present moment. Like this, when full of clarity, the confused thoughts of the three times, like snow falling on a hot stone, naturally dissolve without the opportunity to accumulate habits, thereby liberating confusion and leading the mind-stream to complete liberation, which is abiding in the grasp of liberation. Next is practicing essence. Whatever awareness arises in the present moment is naturally practiced, and in the state of truly abiding, in the subsequent attainment, external appearances are internal awareness. All habitual experiences and feelings are like dreams, illusions, mirages, reflections of the moon in water, and emanations. At the same time as they appear, one practices the meaning of their nature being unestablished, which is practicing essence. In this way, one can be liberated from the attachment to the reality of all phenomena, and even in dreams, one can be in the state of the unattached Dharmakaya.

Will arise and abide. The excellent obstacle removal for illnesses and evil spirits is: If one examines the illusory manifestations of conceptual thoughts of illnesses and evil spirits, it is certain that they do not exist in the outer, inner, or intermediate realms. Therefore, thinking that it is joyful to have taken the path of no birth as a practice, one should meditate on holes and the extraction of pegs in the afflicted area, and for evil spirits, one should cultivate the mind of enlightenment and the skill of no self-nature. By doing so, it will definitely be pacified. If virtuous practice declines and is without benefit, then supplicate the lama intensely. Generate strong renunciation and weariness in the mindstream. Accumulate the accumulation of merit, such as the feast gathering. Meditate on loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment. Go to extremely solitary places such as charnel grounds, empty valleys, and mountaintops. Meditate on the lama on the crown of the head. Leap and run with the body, speak and recite with the mouth. Proliferate the mind into various appearances of happiness and suffering, affirmation and negation. Blend into the state of instantaneous self-liberation, and by practicing in this way for many days and nights, a special realization will arise in the mindstream. This is from the key instructions of "Mind Itself, Self-Liberation." Among the three situations of decline, wandering, and scattering, if there is no arising no matter how much one meditates, it is decline. If the arising of clarity declines and the skill of superior seeing is weak, then do not let it remain for even a moment. Like a paper tongue moved by the wind, let it flutter and train in self-liberation, and the wisdom of superior seeing will suddenly arise in the mindstream. If the calm abiding and insight of clear, non-conceptual awareness decline and the arising is weak, then turn your back to the sun in a cloudless sky and stare blankly into the sky. Without the mind scattering, the wisdom of emptiness and clarity, free from elaboration, will arise from within. Wandering is: If one initially generates some qualities through meditation, but is filled with arrogance and pride, then contemplate the more superior qualities. If one is attached to this life, then forcefully meditate on impermanence. If one is attached to the high and low of experiences, then meditate on the destruction of what one is attached to. If there is no loving-kindness and compassion, then contemplate the six realms of beings as parents. If awareness cannot overcome circumstances, then contemplate the blending of circumstances and awareness. This is also from "Dharmata Self-Liberation." The seven branches of union are: The Lord of Speech, Drakpa, said: "Perfect enjoyment, union, great bliss, are without self-nature. Compassion is all-pervading, continuous, and without cessation." Thus it is said. In the Akanishta realm, for the great bodhisattvas, the profound and vast secret mantra teachings are constantly continued.
