When obtaining and using it, emptiness manifests as cause and effect, making the cause and effect of karma more subtle. Moreover, by the power of that samadhi, all the words and meanings of the Dharma are naturally understood, and one can be liberated no matter what adverse circumstances are encountered, which is a sign of realization. The path is easy and quick, without having to endure great hardships. It is not like accumulating merit and purifying obscurations for many kalpas and finally attaining Buddhahood. Rather, if one can cultivate the general meaning of clear light awareness with intense diligence, without laziness or distraction, then conceptual thoughts and the bliss, clarity, and non-conceptuality, as well as the obscurations of habits such as dullness, drowsiness, and torpor, will all be purified. The qualities of knowing reality as it is and seeing all that exists will effortlessly increase, and one will attain the kingdom of Vajradhara, manifesting as the body of the three kayas. Furthermore, even if one has attained the ground of samadhi, if one does not mix it with circumstances and practice the skill of realization, then the antidote will not be able to overcome the circumstances. Therefore, within that good samadhi, it is as if many terrifying poisonous snakes reside in one place. So, due to the power of any circumstance, such as beautiful forms and other objects of attachment, pleasant things, and insults from others and other objects of hatred, desire, anger, and so on will manifest. If that does not arise from the practice of one's own mindstream, then if it does not arise from flesh, from where do you think it arises? If one cannot subdue those, it is said in the sutras that hatred will throw one into hell and so on, so one must subdue them. The method of subduing is that the great Indian siddhas first gained stability in samadhi in solitary places, and then went to marketplaces and other places to practice their skills in the comings and goings and happiness and suffering of people. Then there were the impurities of the nine villages, then the punishments of the king, then the charnel grounds, and so on. Similarly, go to the top of a mountain or an island in a lake, and if the eyes see a form, look at it again and again, and so on. Whatever arises in the mind, allow it to arise, and then speak the name from the mouth. Allow the mind to wander, and in order to cut off wandering on an object such as a pillar, as soon as one thinks "This is a pillar," immediately switch to "This is a vase," "This is a stone," "This is earth," "This is a tree," and so on. Without losing the ground of fundamental awareness, let awareness be cast into the object, and thus learn to be liberated in awareness.

The ability for all adversities to arise as training in awareness is like Lama Zhang Rinpoche's head hitting a rock cave, causing bliss and emptiness to arise. In this way, from this training, until one has obtained the method for destroying the husk of attachment to the experience of recognizing awareness, and until one has gained stability in practice, one should do at least a hundred days or so. This is just a record of the Lama's oral transmission. Answers to questions regarding the difference between mind and awareness, etc.
