Regarding how speech and mind take and abandon, and the importance of mind, in the unique Mantrayana system, wind is the root of the chakras. The one who has never experienced both liberation and delusion is the initial fundamental time. The one who has experienced liberation but not delusion is the primordial protector. The one who has experienced delusion but not liberation is the self-indulgent sentient being. The one who has experienced both delusion and liberation is the yogi on the path. Therefore, among the body, speech, and mind of flesh and blood, mind is the most important. Matter cannot accomplish anything; both bondage and liberation are mind, as stated by the Omniscient One. From the perspective of purification and nirvana, mind is indeed crucial. When abiding in wisdom, insight, and innate mind, the three places of arising, abiding, and going must be determined by applying them to a basis. When thinking of a pillar, examine the arising of mind from within the pillar, then reduce the pillar to atoms. Divide the atoms into parts and determine their nature as emptiness, free from elaboration, thereby generating a definite understanding of the nature of appearance-emptiness union and emptiness-dependent arising. When determining the three—the one who arises, the one who abides, and the one who goes—all minds and mental factors, even if blocked by a hundred spears, cannot obstruct the space within. The moment the awareness of grasping at the pillar arises without obstruction, determine it as appearance-emptiness union, thereby determining both the object and the subject as appearance-emptiness. Furthermore, determine the body as appearance-emptiness, speech as sound-emptiness, and mind as thought-emptiness. Among these, the body itself is not truly established, but is impermanent, not eternal, undergoes birth, aging, sickness, and death, is not singular but an aggregate of many, and is not autonomous but subject to karma and afflictions. After determining this in detail, it must be recognized as appearance-emptiness; otherwise, it cannot be understood as the remains after the destruction of the environment and beings. Similarly, sound should be based on emptiness and determined as primordial emptiness, free from elaboration, and not understood as the cessation of sound. Thought-emptiness does not mean the absence of conceptual thought; it refers to non-conceptual cessation, etc. Therefore, based on the emptiness of mind and the eight consciousnesses, the nature, reality, or essence of mind, this great appearance-emptiness union, should be viewed through the three—arising, abiding, and going—appearance-emptiness union is the secret essence of mind.

Because it is realized, there is nothing more supreme than the "realized one." One can watch the undisturbed spectacle on the field of selflessness. Likewise, all phenomena encompassed by the outer and inner world should be ascertained as the very nature of the great union of appearance and emptiness, with a buzzing sound. This ascertainment is not a cessation of mind, nor is it merely the realization of the emptiness of the aggregates. As Mipham Rinpoche said, "The principles of Dharma are extremely profound." As it is said, the essence of the three sources of arising, abiding, and ceasing, the ascertainment of the union of appearance and emptiness, can prevent the two selves, can understand selflessness, is the true friend of existence, and the view of Madhyamaka is also included in this. The object is appearance and emptiness, and the ascertainment of the union of the subject is the view. It is on the basis of the ascertainment of the union of appearance and emptiness in meditative equipoise. The view of the three sources of arising, abiding, and ceasing, the union of appearance and emptiness, also has two establishments: the view of characteristics and the view of suchness. The view of self-cognizant wisdom is at the time of the main practice. Thus, the union of appearance and emptiness itself is decided by the view, guarded by meditation, enhanced by conduct, and practiced by being encompassed by the three: preparation, main practice, and subsequent practice. I wonder if one cannot find a path to liberation? This is the oral instruction of the holy guru. At the ground stage, there is no ascertainment of the wisdom of higher seeing that determines the aggregates and elements and realizes selflessness. Without it, in the center of the heart, the luminous awareness, the king of all higher seeing, will not awaken. If all manifestations of skill are suppressed, then not even a single conceptual thought can be placed on the path of liberation. The sign of not understanding it is that when encountering circumstances, one fully exposes one's own shortcomings like an ordinary person. This is the result of suppressing all manifestations of skill. Therefore, these manifestations of skill should not be covered up like a black hen covering eggs, but should be practiced impartially. If there is no discriminating wisdom or intelligence to practice skill, one cannot grasp the key points, so the necessity is repeatedly emphasized. Some people say not to modify with conceptual mind, not to mix with consciousness. If there is no consciousness, one cannot accomplish any virtue. It is said that on this ordinary ground, consciousness is better than omniscience. On the paths of accumulation and preparation, one should meditate on the general meaning of luminosity in the face of consciousness like a pond. For example, the object of appearance is the moon in the sky, and the appearance is
