As it is said in the "Eight Greatnesses of Excellence," it is definitely great like the glorious and bright sun because it is the king of all tantras; it is great like the supreme Mount Meru in the center because it is the pinnacle of all vehicles; it is great like the arising space because it is the source of all teachings; it is great like the space that opens up the realm of appearance and existence because it is the general commentary of all Agamas; it is great like a person who has received the king's secret decree because it is the innermost essence of the intention of all Tathagatas; it is great like a wish-fulfilling jewel because it is the ultimate place of all fruits; it is great like the trace of the sky-goers because it is the path of all Tathagatas; it is great like a great road because it is the path of future yogis, these are the eight. The first of these is that just as the appearance of the sun is the king of all appearances, so too is this tantra the king of all tantras. The second is that just as when one goes to the top of Mount Meru, all the small mountains are under one's eyes, so too if one understands the meaning of this tantra, the meaning of all vehicles is gathered here, therefore one will know all of them. The third is that just as the four elements arise from space and then the container and its contents are formed, so too all the teachings and vehicles emanate from the blessings of this tantra. The fourth is that just as space opens up the realm of appearance and existence, so too all the meanings of characteristics and tantras and all the fruits are gathered here, and because it teaches this, it is the general commentary of all Agamas. The fifth is that just as a person who has received the king's secret decree is the one trusted by the king, so the subjects do not have to depend on other ministers, so too the ultimate secret of the heart of all Tathagatas does not go beyond this, so if one understands its meaning, one does not have to depend on other vehicles. The sixth is that just as the wish-fulfilling jewel is the supreme ultimate that gives all desires, so too the ultimate fruit of all teachings and vehicles culminates in this very essence of the secret nature. The seventh is that just as everyone who arrives there has gone on the great road to where they are going, so too all the Buddhas of the past attained Buddhahood by relying on this path. The eighth is that just as the place

(He Ru Ka Gal Po'i rGyud)中有所阐述。

Those who go there again also walk on that path, and those who will attain Buddhahood in the future will also rely on this path to attain Buddhahood. In general, the tantras of Mahāyoga are explained through seven ornaments, as stated in the He Ru Ka Gal Po'i rGyud. The seven ornaments of Mahāyoga are: the way of initiating and attaining Buddhahood, the detailed explanation of the boundaries and the way of explaining, the aspects of classification, the vessel of the individual (pudgala), and understanding through the true view. So it is said. Among the tantras of Mahāyoga, especially the Vajrasattva Mayajala Guhyagarbha, even the mere determination of names that are in accordance with the tantras, teachings, and instructions can lead to the realization of the secrets of the meaning of the unsurpassed tantras. This king of all tantras has two ways of interpretation: one is to interpret it according to the instructions of Atiyoga, and the other is to explain it according to the generation stage of Mahāyoga. The former is the view of the teacher Nyio Sengge (Light Lion) and the omniscient Longchen Rabjam, etc. The latter is the view of Sgegpa Dorje (Charming Vajra), Sangye Sangwa (Buddha Secret), etc., and most of the holders of the Zurpa tradition. How to explain it? The ancient ones explained it in three ways by combining metaphors: explaining from the tip like an arrow, called all dharmas being enlightened from the beginning is the fundamental secret essence. Since it is inseparable from the generation and completion stages, the path to practice is that alone. Its ultimate result is the spontaneous accomplishment of the three bodies, and the fruit is determined on the basis, that is, explaining by summarizing all dharmas into the three: base, path, and fruit in the name. Explaining from the middle like a spear, in the fifth chapter it says: "The dharani of knowing and entering characteristics, the cause and condition for the ripening of the fruit, becoming capable, is known as the Buddha-field of the Vidyadharas." Therefore, the cause is the view of the characteristic of knowing, the condition is the samadhi of the characteristic of entering, and the fruit of the path is the four Vidyadharas, that is, explaining by summarizing into three characteristics. Explaining from the hilt like a sword, called the meaning of the two verses in the last chapter of the root tantra, the base is the appearance of self-nature, the appearance of delusion and confusion, the appearance of the path for those to be tamed, and the fruit is the Sugata's
