Therefore, one will not be confused about all meanings. Thus, establishing cause, effect, and nature as three is the three kinds of reasoning in the context of analyzing conventional truth. But in ultimate truth, if analyzed with the vajra sliver reasoning, it is not discernible which cause produces which effect. If analyzed with existence, non-existence, arising, and ceasing, then effects do not arise dependent on causes. If analyzed with reasoning such as one or many, separate or not, then no nature such as hardness is established. Therefore, there is no cause, no expectation of result, and the nature is emptiness, abiding in the nature of the three doors of liberation, which is the dharma-nature of ultimate truth. The two, agent and action, dependence, are also included in the dharma-nature of conventional objects, such as the heat of fire and the burning action of fire, and the dependence of fire on firewood, which is like the dharma-nature. Therefore, all ends of reasoning reach the reasoning of dharma-nature, and there is no other reason to seek, just as no one can deny the dharma-nature of objects, such as the heat of fire. Thus, summarizing the meaning of the previous three reasonings, in conventional truth, how the three, cause, effect, and nature, of phenomena abide is the state of affairs or dharma-nature of conventional truth, and the three, cause, effect, and nature, being without inherent existence is the state of affairs or dharma-nature of ultimate truth. In short, the previous three reasonings were taught from the aspect of establishing the meaning of the two truths. The nature of phenomena abiding in such a way is reasonable and logical, therefore it is called reasoning, or measuring in accordance with it is also called reasoning. Thus, measuring the meaning of the two truths to be measured without error is established by the power of objects, therefore it is called the reasoning of establishing validity, because whatever establishes is endowed with valid validity. Then, through what means is validity established? Through the way it appears, the meaning of conventional truth, and the way it abides, the meaning of ultimate truth, these two becoming manifest is direct perception, and for what is hidden, the sign that can infer it appearing without deception is other inference. Through the means of these two valid cognitions. Among them, the nature of conventional truth becoming manifest is the blue lotus appearing without being deceived by eye consciousness.

It is like seeing smoke with the eyes. To directly focus on the essence of ultimate reality is like the samadhi wisdom of the noble ones. To infer conventional meaning through inference is like inferring fire from smoke and impermanence from conditioned phenomena. To infer ultimate reality through inference is like inferring emptiness through reasons such as being separate from one and many. When explaining the tantra of the Magical Net Secret Essence, the unique reasonings taught here are threefold: valid cognition is scripture, sound is concordant and meaning is superior, and reasonings where words and meanings are discordant. First, the reasonings where valid cognition is scripture are fourfold: four realizations, three purities, four equalities, and the reasonings of the great self. First, there are also four: the same cause, the manner of letters, blessing, and the reasonings of direct perception. The first is: all phenomena of appearance and existence are the subject. The cause or manner is the same in the ultimate reality, the union of wisdom, and self-arisen wisdom, because all phenomena do not transcend its state. The second is: all appearances that arise from the expanse are the subject. For example, they appear as conventional bodies and wisdom in the manner of letters, because they are appearances that do not transcend the nature of the expanse. The third is: the two, conventional and ultimate, are the subject. They mutually bless each other and are inseparable, because the essence is not established as different. The fourth is: the state of inseparability is the subject. It is separate from all objects of mind, because it is inconceivable by the conventional mind and is the object of the wisdom of self-awareness. The second is: the five elements, the five aggregates, and the eight collections of consciousness are the subject. They abide in the nature of the three purities, because they abide in the nature of the five mothers, the five families, and the five wisdoms. The third is: the ultimate reality of enumeration that cuts off one-sided elaboration, and the ultimate reality of non-enumeration that cuts off all elaboration are both the subject. They are equal only in ultimate reality, because they are distinguished only by the non-establishment of self-nature. The correct conventional reality that appears and can function, and the false conventional reality that appears but cannot function are both the subject. They are equal only in conventional reality, because they possess the appearance of self-face and are isolated when examined.
