Even if one wants to say that emptiness is not a vehicle, what is the need to say that? According to the second view, if it is a path, then it is the vehicle of the cause; if it is a result, then it is the vehicle that carries one here, having admitted that, how can one establish that wisdom is not a vehicle? Therefore, know that this, as previously explained, is an explanation of the difference between the four and six classes of tantra. Ho ho! Note: If one does not speak, then whatever wisdom, whether of a learner or non-learner, is the vehicle of the result, therefore that statement itself becomes self-contradictory. Thus, although Ati is beyond the path of words and is the ultimate wisdom beyond thought, it is not contradictory to the scriptures that are practiced as the path from now on. Even if the wisdom that realizes emptiness is characterized and exists in the continuum of the noble ones, is there no method for ordinary beings to enter into it? Similarly, if measured from the perspective of emptiness, which is free from all four extremes of elaboration as explained in the Perfection of Wisdom vehicle, there is no such thing as a dharma nature that it does not pervade. Therefore, if there is a view higher than that, it will surely become elaborate, and this reason is actually established. However, if measured from the perspective of the object of realization of the sphere, or from the perspective of the great bliss of skillful means, then the view of mantra is the most supreme, because it is the mind that is very close to the reality of the object. Therefore, if the mind that realizes reality is not a view, then who can admit that through the door of skillful means, the wisdom of mantra will not become a wisdom that is very close to reality? In the commentary on the *Dharmatā-vibhāga*, the *Jñānālokā-vibhāga*, it says: Entering into characteristics is to be known in three ways: the characteristic of the nature of reality abiding in its own essence, the characteristic of setting it aside without appearance, and the characteristic of setting it with appearance. The first is that the nature of reality of all phenomena abides in suchness itself, because it abides utterly in the nature of reality in which the mind cannot distinguish between the two, grasper and grasped, or between the two truths, and which cannot be expressed by language in any extreme or form. And the ultimate realization is the understanding that the two truths are inseparable and of one taste, which the wisdom of the Buddhas sees as it is, and in the path of learning there is a conformity with it. The second, from obtaining the non-appearance of non-conceptual wisdom, is like this: in non-conceptual sense consciousness, there appear the two, grasper and grasped, and the two appearances

I am attached to this, and with a mind accompanied by conceptualization, express what appears as this and that. The inner expression or the mind grasping at the grasper and the grasped, the inner faculties such as the eye, the outer objects such as forms, the consciousnesses such as eye consciousness, and the appearance of the common container world, all of these completely disappear, because there is nothing to distinguish it, therefore the appearance as suchness, one taste, is called the disappearance of dualistic appearance in emptiness. Therefore, this explanation of the six meanings just mentioned refers, in order, to that which cannot be examined by the consciousnesses of the senses, cannot be expressed by speech, the place or basis of the arising of consciousness does not exist, there is no appearance as an object, there is no consciousness of the object and the subject, and there is no place for the common basis of the container. In this way, the characteristics of non-conceptual wisdom are explained. Therefore, the non-appearing wisdom that transcends the nature of those appearances, the self-luminous clarity that is equal to space, is called the non-appearance of non-conceptual wisdom. Its own nature is the wisdom that transcends consciousness, not belonging to any realm of conditioned or unconditioned phenomena. Therefore, in its essence, there is no division by those appearances, but it is self-manifesting, inseparable from the nature of reality. If explained from the perspective of the wisdom that realizes suchness, then constantly without moving from this state, all appearances of the wisdom of suchness arise equally and without mixing, and can become a non-contradictory union. Why is that? Because in the nature of reality, suchness, all dharmas are of equal taste and do not waver, while all that exists is merely appearance, and these two are not contradictory. Similarly, in the self-appearance of the wisdom that sees the nature of reality, appearances arise without being obstructed, but from the point of view of not clinging to this, the meaning of the non-appearance explained above is completely fulfilled, because it transcends the ordinary nature. This is a supplementary explanation of a very important profound meaning. Third, from the perspective of appearance, how is it that in equipoise, all dharmas are of equal taste, and cannot be grasped by the nature of suchness, for example, appearing as equality like the center of the sky?
