The inner image should be known by the wise. As it is said, it is quoted. Here, the Dharma treasury spoken by the teacher, the essence of all, the path of the luminous peak, is said to be the spontaneously accomplished basis of reality. In the final teachings and instructions of the Buddha, this spontaneously accomplished basis of reality is highly praised, so it should be known. Thus, the Supreme Vehicle Treasure, the Doctrine Treasure, and the Great Definitive Chariot, etc., all speak in accordance with this manner. Furthermore, it is considered to be a characteristic of mantra. The meaning of this phrase is: In the supplement, it says that making the inner self-awareness immutable as the Tathagatagarbha is in accordance with the Essence Sutra and the Uttaratantra, etc., and their commentaries. However, here, making self-awareness the nature of great bliss is thought to be a characteristic of the Anuttaratantra. In the Kalachakra, it says, "The three realms, subtle and coarse, are not form; here, it is consciousness. Likewise, the nature of consciousness is also non-existent. The words 'Buddha's wisdom does not abide anywhere' are to show the Buddhas. Those who are separated from immutability grasp emptiness and contemplate emptiness. Then, the pleasure of the unchanging, innate body of the chief deity is taught in the mantra vehicle." This is from the supplement. Mipham Rinpoche's explanation of doubts about the Uttaratantra says, "After stating that all phenomena are empty like clouds and dreams, why is it said that the realm of the nature of the minds of all sentient beings is the Tathagatagarbha, the element of inherent qualities?" The answer is: "To abandon the five faults such as cowardice." As it is said, is such a realm without qualities, but with existence, the literal meaning of the words, or the definitive meaning? If it is the literal meaning of the words, it directly contradicts the words of the Uttaratantra itself. If it is the definitive meaning, then after generating Bodhicitta, the irreversible, indestructible, and constant path is the uncommon aspect of the Mahayana realization lineage. Also, because of this, it is explained by "Suchness is conditioned," etc. All the phenomena of Samsara, gathered by karma, afflictions, and ripening, are not inherently present in the Dharmadhatu. Because it is naturally pure, it can be separated. All the qualities of Nirvana, which is stainless and non-abiding, are like the opening of space, like the sun's

Just as (water and) wetness are inseparable, (the Tathagatagarbha) possesses its own nature. The Tathagatagarbha is not merely emptiness, but emptiness luminosity. That is the primordial, fundamental reality of all dharmas. It is the non-dual reality of union, the truth, and the emptiness that possesses all perfections. Its essence does not abide in samsara or nirvana, and it perfectly possesses the qualities of the Buddha. By realizing it, all the qualities of the Mahayana path can arise. The subtle habits of karma, afflictions, and ripening, etc., all that should be abandoned, and fundamentally non-existent, are the four grounds such as the ground of ignorance and habits. Abandoning them is the realm of the Buddha alone. Abandoning these four grounds, the ultimate qualities, such as the ten powers, the ocean of Buddha's qualities, will be manifested, and this is the manifestation of the qualities of the Dharmadhatu. Therefore, this is only the Buddha's lineage, not that of the Shravakas or Pratyekabuddhas, because it is inseparable from the qualities of the Buddha. Then, do dogs, pigs, and other sentient beings have the wisdom of the ten powers in their mind-streams? The qualities of the wisdom of the ten powers are originally present in the Tathagatagarbha of their mind-streams. Because that is its own nature's quality, if there is a dhatu, there is a quality, but it will not manifest. Just as a sword has the function of cutting, but when placed in a scabbard, the function of cutting cannot be manifested; just as a mirror has the quality of reflecting images, but when placed in a box, it cannot be manifested. Similarly, the qualities of the Dharmadhatu cannot be manifested in the mind-stream of an individual who possesses a self-continuum due to the obscurations present in their mind-stream. Moreover, if the nature of their own mind, the emptiness that possesses all perfections, cannot be manifested, how can qualities be manifested? Therefore, considering this non-manifestation, some say that there is only the potential to generate the ten powers, but they do not actually exist. This view may be valid under that kind of examination. If the cause of generating potential is a part of the compounded mind, then it is difficult to prove that all minds can generate the ten powers. If, through purifying the two obscurations and their habits, the nature of mind becomes its own operation, then this is the uncompounded quality of the Dharmadhatu, and cannot be the cause of ripening. Such a dhatu is said to be the luminosity of the nature of mind, the innate mind.
