If one considers the Suchness with defilements, then one is not a fully qualified Buddha who has abandoned the obscurations of one's own nature and possesses both purities. With this statement, you expose your own fault of not understanding the tantric scriptures, how could there be fault in the Dzogchen tantras themselves?” Thus he spoke. Answers regarding the differences between mind and rigpa. When mind and rigpa are distinguished, what is called mind is like karmic winds being like a wild, blind horse, and rigpa is like a sighted person; when these two meet, it is called mind. When mind is categorized, there are the eight collections of consciousness. Moreover, even now, while all the objects of the eight collections have not ceased, the fact that one can recognize the rigpa of primordial luminosity is a special characteristic of the path of luminosity Dzogchen. Although other unsurpassable paths also aim to recognize this, they emphasize the three channels, bindus, and winds, and one must recognize the luminosity of the exhaustion of the three appearances, which is the path of effort. Therefore, one should properly distinguish between mind and rigpa, and when rigpa itself is separated from the eight collections of consciousness and appears nakedly, it is the appearance of the exemplary luminosity. Experiencing the luminosity of the exhaustion of the three appearances and nakedly realizing the nature of Dzogchen rigpa are both seen directly by the transcendental power of wisdom or by one's own self-cognizant awareness, and are not dependent on inference. So, is the noble path of seeing the truth of reality the first bhumi? No, it is not. The appearance of luminosity on the path of mantra with signs and the union of the nature of rigpa of signless luminosity Dzogchen are both the actual appearance of exemplary luminosity, like the reflection of the moon in water. It is like the image of the moon appearing in water, resembling the forms that the real moon possesses. Other many supreme individuals have said that this is not inferential thought, but is directly realized by oneself, so it is said to be the path of seeing of mantra. The absence of the twelve hundred qualities, etc., is explained as the growth of the body, obscurations, etc. Both Omniscient Longchen Rabjam and Jamgön Mipham Rinpoche also say mantra.

Although it is not the actual path of seeing, one truly realizes the suchness of reality. Because the path of seeing must possess one hundred and twelve qualities, etc. Although this is self-cognizant direct perception, it is regarded as example wisdom. Actual wisdom is regarded as the path of seeing, like seeing the actual moon. In the Treasury of Precious Qualities, it says: 'Whatever awareness transcends the mind, is a special characteristic of the Great Perfection of self-nature.' If these two are explained through examples, the mind is like the fifteenth day moon, looking outward, following various objects, grasping and contemplating them, its own light radiating outward, pervading and mixing with all objects. Awareness, on the other hand, is like the moon in the empty sky, its own light not radiating outward, but clear in its depths, like the clear and unobstructed awareness of its own state, like reflections appearing in a mirror. All appearing objects are clear and bright without obstruction, yet they do not dissipate outward onto the objects. Awareness possesses the heat of clarity, not losing its own nature, and therefore there is no dullness. All thoughts arising from its power are naturally liberated without the opportunity to accumulate habitual tendencies, and are free from agitation. Thus, there are many ways to differentiate from the perspective of example and meaning. In short, the nature of the eight consciousness aggregates is wisdom. The eight aggregates are the subject, and the wisdom of its nature, these two should not be affirmed as either one or different. As it says in the Samdhinirmocana Sutra: 'The realm of formations and the nature of ultimate meaning are of a nature that is free from one and different. Whoever conceives of them as one or different, they have entered into an improper view.' Therefore, these two are not one in name, because merely realizing the mind does not realize the wisdom of the mind's nature, and because it is the subject and the nature, etc. They are not different in ultimate truth, because the nature of the mind is wisdom, so when wisdom is realized, the mind is not perceived as different from it. When the wisdom of clear light awareness awakens from the heart essence Dharma wheel, there is not even a particle of mind. Whatever appears, appears as the great mandala of self-appearing wisdom, like when one goes to the golden island of jewels, one cannot find ordinary earth and stones even if one searches, so this is extremely important, please contemplate deeply.
