Where does it abide? Also, the body of the wrathful deity is as small as a mustard seed, residing right in front of the eyes. It abides in the form of light and rays. Thus it is said. The path is the channel connecting from the heart to the eye, like a crystal tube. As it says in the Golden Garland: "The channel connected to the ocean of jewels, white and smooth, empty inside, unstained by bindu blood, great wisdom flows from there." Thus it is said. The way of connection is: from the tip of the heart, it winds around the side of the spine, from the small channels on the left and right sides of the throat, it winds around the two ears, from the brain it pierces into the two watery lenses of the eyes and abides. As it says in the former: "The rays of light that arise from that path are clear and pure like the center of a mirror. For example, it appears as rays of light like the eyes of a fish. The channel that connects to that awareness is like a white silk thread from the tip of the heart, extending upwards from the side of the spine. Then, the path arises and enters upwards into the head, and that channel also connects to the brain from the left and right sides of the small channels. Moreover, it emerges from the left and right sides of the ears and connects to the eyes. Therefore, when the eyes are turned upwards, restraining the channels and gazing, it will be filled with the appearance of wisdom." Thus it is said. From which gate does it appear? It appears from the two eyes. As it says in the Blazing Thunderbolt: "The far-reaching water lamp is shown as the gate through which wisdom appears." Thus it is said. The root of the eye channel is connected to the navel and the heart. From the heart it is connected to the throat. From the throat to the conch shell chamber, the four-petaled channel that spirals to the right, is the channel petal that causes the senses to appear to objects. From one of these petals, five tips branch out, serving as the support for each of the five gates. Among them, the channel called "purifying the virtues and faults of the senses," for the Kashmiri people, the root is thin, with two branches like the horns of a Bamen sheep, piercing into the pure part of the two lenses of the eyes, thus producing the clear and bright nature of water, therefore it is called "far-reaching water lamp." Relying on it, the empty bindu lamp appears like the plumage of a peacock. Its radiance, the lamp of pure space, appears like the letter "naro." Its power, the lamp of self-born wisdom, appears as the power of knowledge. Furthermore, the crystal tube is the light channel, while the purifier of the senses is the channel like the saffron flower, the support of the eye sense.

The gate between the inner consciousness of the eyes looking outward and the appearance of external phenomena looking inward is like being separated by a flawless mirror, just as the inner radiance shines outward. The external images appear internally, in order to clearly see that the two do not obscure each other. The channels through which the radiance of true awareness manifests are four: the two eyes manifest actual light, from the heart to the center of the central channel, from the essence of the clear light channel manifests the wrathful deity of the conch chamber, and the bindus of its light channels, from the light channel of the central channel manifests the great clear light bindu in the center of the four chakras, from the crown of the head manifests the non-conceptual Brahmahole, manifesting the five-layered or nine-layered bindus of attainment, the crucial channel gate for transference with a basis, and from the heart to the lungs, the radiance of awareness manifests as mind. Thus, the two eyes, the light channel of the central channel, and the light channel of the lungs, etc. As it is said in the Garland of Pearls: "The path is the four channels moving the winds, the manifesting gates are the eyes, etc." Common people identify the two eye channels as the path, but this is because of their narrow understanding. Identify the four channels through which the four radiances manifest. During practice, awareness arises from the eyes, and from the two eyes arises the light of the nature of awareness, from the light channel of the central channel arises the radiance of emptiness of essence, and from the lung channel arises the radiance of compassion and awareness. Where does it manifest? In the outer space of the sky, in the inner space of the pure lamp, the five lights appear. As it is said in The Blazing Lamp: "The realm exists both externally and internally, the external realm is the cloudless sky, the inner realm is the perfectly pure lamp." And as it is said in The Mirror of the Mind of Kuntuzangpo: "The mirror that everyone possesses is a great mirror of light, like a clear mandala of a mirror, whatever image is shown, it will appear as it is. Likewise, in the pure empty sky, the five unmixed clusters of the essence of meaning, the spontaneously abiding clusters of uncreated perfection." And as it is said in The Lion's Perfected Strength: "In the self-appearing sky of non-attachment, the two lights of desirelessness are clear, the appearance of the Dharmakaya without abandonment or attainment is seen, holding the halo of light like a direction, the illusory five bodies free from self appear."
