From there, they are born as gods of the Clear Light heaven. At that time, the people of the Eastern Videha continent will also become like the people of Jambudvipa. Then, the Western Godaniya will also change. Then, the people of the Northern Kuru will be born as gods of the Thirty-Three, because they are not separated from attachment to desires. The three continents are born in higher realms because they are naturally weary of desire. The subcontinents are similar to the main continent. Then, the way the six classes of desire realm gods are destroyed is: From the Four Great Kings to the Paranirmitavasavartin, one god hears the proclamation of how to attain a state of meditative concentration, and based on that cause, meditates. Like before, they attain the second dhyana and are born as gods of the Clear Light. Then, the way the form realm is destroyed is: In the Brahma world, any sentient being attains the second dhyana through their own nature, dwells in it, and afterwards, like before, expresses it in words, and everyone learns in this way, and after death, they are born as gods of the Clear Light. Then, the way the vessel world is destroyed is: First, everything below the first dhyana is burned by fire, then everything below the second dhyana is purified by water, then everything below the third dhyana is destroyed by wind. From the beginning of destruction to the point of complete destruction, there are twenty intermediate kalpas. The empty kalpa is: According to the Wish-Fulfilling Treasury, after destruction, there is nothing, it remains in a state of emptiness, equal to the duration of twenty intermediate kalpas. Furthermore, seven fires will burn the Avraha heaven. The flames break off from there and burn the Tushita heaven, from the Nirmanarati heaven down to the abode of the Great Brahma. The flames carried by the wind rise up from below the Abhasvara heaven, and the young gods become frightened. Initially, it is said that destruction by fire occurs seven times, meaning that seven suns rise in succession, burning everything below the Brahma abode. After that, a stream of rain falls from the sky seven times, destroying everything below the beginning of the second dhyana, and the ashes from the previous burning remain mixed with water. After that, a strong wind suddenly blows once, scattering everything below the third dhyana and the previous remnants in all ten directions, making nothing visible. In this way, in one destruction, all three elements of fire, water, and wind occur.

Therefore, I think that the way of destruction below the third dhyana is completely different from the way of the Abhidharma-kosa, etc. According to the treatises on the Earth and Abhidharma, when destruction by fire occurs, there is neither smoke nor ashes, but it is burned, and then the first dhyana and below are destroyed, and again they are formed as before. Again, fire destructions, etc., after seven fire destructions, the second dhyana and below are destroyed by water. After forming again, after seven fire destructions, one water destruction, etc., in such a way that after seven water destructions have passed, again they are formed, seven fire destructions occur, and then the world that is formed again is destroyed by wind, so the third dhyana and below are destroyed. In short, there are fifty-six fire destructions, seven water destructions, and one wind destruction, for a total of sixty-four destructions. So, this own life of increasing merit cannot complete the sixty-four intermediate kalpas, because one kalpa when the vessel world has not formed, and one kalpa when the vessel world is destroyed are also subtracted, so at most it will not exceed eight kalpas. In general, it is okay even if it is slightly incomplete. According to the Abhidharma, the lifespan of the Great Brahma is also reduced by two kalpas, and the lifespan of the Clear Light and Increasing Merit is also reduced by two intermediate kalpas each, but since they are established in a close way, there is no contradiction, just as it is thought. Here, the intermediate, beginning, and initial durations are not the same, and if the lifespan of each place is established by the intermediate, although it is very complete, since the detailed content is not clearly stated in this treatise, it still needs to be further investigated. The arguments for destruction and non-destruction are that in the first dhyana and below there are investigation and analysis, because the feeling of mind and mental factors is like fire, so the corresponding elements are destroyed by fire. In the second dhyana there is the joy and bliss of meditation, like a stream of nectar, so it is destroyed by water. In the third dhyana there is the movement of breathing, like wind, so it is destroyed by wind. But that is not like the coarse wind of the desire realm, because there is no coarse body and veins. Therefore, the purity of the nature of dhyana is also the same. However, since there is a part obtained from the purity of the elemental particles born from the result of karma, there is a corresponding movement of breathing. Similarly, the harm and non-harm from enemies that yogis encounter are also caused by the accomplishment and non-accomplishment of these dhyanas.
