And two, the protruding bones with the flesh and blood inside exhausted. And three, in between, foolish, mute, deaf, blind, and crippled. When these three are gathered together, the old woman shows ugly, angry wrinkles. One, heavy and tattered old clothes. Two, cold and dirty food and drink. Three, a bed made of four pieces of rough leather. When these three are gathered together, the old woman becomes a yogini trampled by people and bitten by dogs. As it is said. When getting up, one cannot get up immediately by nature, but puts both hands on the ground and gets up as if pulling out a stake from the hard ground. When walking, one cannot lift one's head because of the stooped waist, and the lifting and lowering of the steps cannot be done quickly, but walks slowly like a child approaching a bird. When sitting, because all the joints of the limbs ache, one cannot sit down slowly, but lowers the weight of the body and sits down as if a pile of earth has collapsed. Because the flesh of the body is exhausted, the skin's wrinkles gather, and the body and face are all filled with wrinkles. Because the internal flesh and blood are exhausted, all the joints of the bones are exposed, and all the joint heads such as the cheekbones protrude outwards. Because the mind's memory is weakened, one becomes foolish, mute, deaf, blind, and crippled, the mind is not clear, and one sits listlessly. Because the body's strength and desire for beauty are weakened, all the clothes are heavy and tattered. Because the tongue cannot taste the flavors, all the food and drink are cold and dirty. Because the body is heavy, there is no time for comfort no matter what one does, so one seeks support in all directions. Because the external illusory body is decaying, the inner mind is discouraged. The radiance of the beautiful face fades, and the accumulated wrinkles increase, showing ugly, angry wrinkles. Being despised and humiliated by everyone, and even if one is stepped on, one abides like a yogi without regard for cleanliness, etc., there are countless sufferings. As the great scholar Kamalashila said: That body, weakened by old age, is more frightening than seeing a ghost when seeing its shadow in a mirror. As it is said. The suffering of illness is: suffering from being afflicted by various diseases such as wind, bile, and phlegm, and there is no time for comfort no matter whether one lies down to the left, right, front, or back. Food and drink do not suit the mind. The day is long, and the night is long. Because of illness, one feels that death will suddenly come, etc., there is such suffering. The Omniscient Dharma King said: The suffering of illness is extremely unbearable.

As it is said, "The nature of the body changes and the mind is uneasy, worldly enjoyments are displeasing, and sorrow arises from the fear of death." The suffering of death is, as Lord Milarepa said, "Seeing the death of a wicked person is the teacher who shows the cause and effect of karma." As it is said, at the time of death, even if one has immeasurable enjoyments, one has no right to take them away, one is unwilling to let go, and one cannot follow after. Remembering the sins committed in the past, one feels regret, and remembering the suffering of the lower realms, one is frightened and afraid. Death comes suddenly and one is terrified. One regrets not having practiced the Dharma that would benefit one at the time of death when one had autonomy, and one's mind is oppressed by suffering. Eyes are filled with tears. At the time of death, one beats one's chest and feet, and one dies with nail marks covering one's chest. At the moment of death, one's heart does not like death, one's memory fades, one's consciousness is confused, one's mind is blocked, one's breath is cut off, the appearances of this life disappear, the messengers of Yama arrive, the appearances of the bardo arise, there is no protector or refuge. Entering the path of the afterlife, one is tormented by intense feelings of suffering, and relatives and friends beat their chests with their hands, tears streaming from their eyes, their hearts are tormented by grief, and they cry out in agony, unable to do anything. Even the beloved young child is bound with ropes, covered with curtains, and pillows are made of stones and other things, and a bowl is placed at the head of the pillow. After a few days, the corpse is taken to the cemetery and eaten by birds, dogs, and so on, and those bones are separated by wind, sunlight, rain, and so on, and scattered in all directions, or burned in fire, or buried in pits, and so on. Since there is no certainty when such a time will come, one should strive to practice the sacred Dharma from this very moment. Fifth, explaining the suffering of the Asuras, as it is said in "Resting the Mind Itself," "The Asuras also have no time for happiness, they quarrel and fight meaninglessly, full of hatred, unable to bear the prosperity of the gods and full of jealousy, they endure hundreds of thousands of sufferings on the battlefield." As it is said, the Asuras are located from the waterline below Mount Sumeru to the golden earth, as it is said in "The Wish-Fulfilling Treasury": The Asuras are in Mount Sumeru.
