And five hundred Arhats, four hundred monks including Vasumitra, five hundred Bodhisattvas who have attained Dharani, and also the four great learned Panditas who attained realization, the eight great supreme Vidyadharas, the six ornaments and two supreme ones of Jambudvipa, the teacher Hero, Rahula Good, Virtue Light, Dharma Protector, the four great ones, Shantideva and Chandra Gomi, the two wonderful teachers, eighty-four great accomplished ones, and so on. In this land of Tibet, when the Second Buddha of Oddiyana turned the Dharma wheel of ripening and liberation, the twenty-five king and subjects, the eighty great accomplished ones of Yerba, the fifty-five realized ones of Yangdzong, the one hundred and eight great meditators who attained the light body of Chuwo Ri, the thirty mantra practitioners of Shelrak, the twenty-five Dakinis who departed into the light body, the seven Yoginis, and later the three schools of Nyingma, So, Zur, and Nub, the three of Sarma, Mar, Mi, and Dak, and so on, countless wise and accomplished beings appeared. Most of them attained the state of accomplishment, flying in the sky like birds, swimming in the water like fish, penetrating mountains and rocks, mastering the four elements, and liberating many beings by merely hearing some of their biographies. Those who were unparalleled in the three realms also ultimately showed the aspect of impermanence. Now, there is only the history of 'there were such people,' so what permanence and stability can there be in our human body, which is like a tree without heartwood? The Omniscient Dharma King said: 'One's own body is like a tree without heartwood, how can it not perish like an illusory house?' Also, in the 'Collection on Impermanence,' it says: 'The Sugata's body, blazing with auspicious marks, accomplished from hundreds of merits, is also impermanent, then how can this body of mine, unreliable like a bubble, certainly not perish? The Buddhas who departed for the benefit of beings are like the sun, look to the moon that holds the treasury of the sacred Dharma, it too will set. Know that one's own perfect retinue and all enjoyments are impermanent.' Also, the teacher Hero said: 'If the bodies of the Buddhas, adorned with marks and signs, the Vajra body is also impermanent, then this body like a tree without heartwood...'

What need is there to say about those who are capable? It is as it is said. Fourth, contemplating impermanence by thinking of the lord of beings: From the "Treasury of Precious Qualities": Even Brahma, Ishvara, Sukhasiddhi, and the Wheel-Turning Kings, have no means to escape from the Lord of Death, the Mara. As it is, like the lord of beings, Brahma and the Great Ishvara, and the king of the gods, Indra, and the four great kings who protect the world, who possess power, wealth, and splendor, and the great Wheel-Turning Kings who are prominent in this human world with power and wealth, and the many kings of eastern and western India whose lands are vast and whose power and wealth are flourishing, from the king who is revered by many to the son of the Bhagavan, Rahula, it is said in the Vinaya that one million and one hundred and fifty thousand royal lineages have appeared. It is also said that from the king who is revered by many to our teacher, there have been nine hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred and thirty-one royal lineages. In this land of Tibet, the way in which the great Dharma Kings, who are emanations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, descended in succession is as follows: The king of India (there are many views on this, but one view is that) the king of a hundred battles had a son born as an emanation of the Bodhisattva Dripa Namsel, whose hands and feet were all connected like a swan, and whose eyes were upturned like a bird's eyes. Because of this, the father thought that this was a non-human son, so he drove him away. It is said that when the son grew up a little, he was driven away, and due to karma, he limped to Tibet. He met some shepherds and asked them where he came from and who he was. He pointed to the sky, and the shepherds thought he was a god of the sky, so they all carried earth and stones on their shoulders and built a throne, and enthroned him as their lord. He was known as Nyatri Tsenpo, the earliest king. His son Mutri Tsenpo, his son Dingtri Tsenpo, his son Sotri Tsenpo, his son Metri Tsenpo, his son Daktri Tsenpo, his son Sibri Tsenpo, these are called the Seven Heavenly Thrones. The son of Sibri Tsenpo was Drigum Tsenpo, his son Jatri or Pudekungyal. These two are called the two of the upper
